Basildon (East Mayne) hotel

The location was alright for us and seeing ample of parking made a good impression. When we inquired about the parking, we were told, we will get voucher which covers the parking at the end of the stay. To our surprise, we had to pay for parking even with voucher. Apparently, voucher is more a discount voucher of £3 but you still pay for parking. This was never clearly mentioned in the booking platform as we booked directly. 2nd, the moment we opened the bathroom, it stinked real bad. We couldn't tolerate it and kept the door and our room door open. 3rd, room was all dusty, coffee etc werent stacked, no toilet paper, and for 3 person bed towels were just 2 for bath and nothing for hand.

The hotel is not equiped with air conditioning, though our room was provied with two fans . It is starting to show its age at 40 years old. The room was spotless. The staff were very polite and eager to help. The meals in the restruraunt were good value and the breakfast was very filling. Overall a nice hotel.

great hotel for a business trip. was checked in by Jackie who always stands out. she goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and always has time for a chat with a lovely smile. Rooms were very clean and comfortable with everything you need, would definitely recommend to stay here.

It’s sad to give a 1star as the place was actually quite nice. The rooms were clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and polite. However, the one star is based on our experience with an extremely hostile and aggressive member of staff, Jackie. There had been a mix up based on booking through company at breakfast and instead of diplomatically discussing this she decided the best course of action was to shout infront of the whole dining area. How this is hospitality is questionable based on her unprofessional and aggressive demeanour. the previous evening the kind receptionist said everything was booked and sorted, Jackie wouldn’t let us get a word in or to stop shouting infront of aload of customers and listen for two minutes. She lets down the whole site unfortunately and as a result lost business. She aggressively said she’s doing her job but I didn’t realise her job was to shout and take no interest in diplomatic discussion. not seem to be a friendly or respectful person for business

I do not know what Premier are up to but our stay at this hotel was absolutely abysmal. The hotel needs a complete overhaul,room was dirty,taps were rusty, and staff were either unavailable or rude. And the Pub/Restaurant was worse I understand they have shut the pubs and it showed,lack of food i asked for Katso chicken curry and rice ,I got chicken gurgones ,breakfast had no hash browns or baked beans again its run on minimum staff. And when we booked no mention of car park but on arrival we had to pay £6.50 per night of our duration overall I would never book Premier again which is a pity as we used them all the time before .
