Uckfield hotel

The staff were very poor, from check in to restaurant service. We paid extra for early check in but when we arrived we were told the room wasn't available and even though we paid for a 11am check in. We were told that guests didn't have to check out until midday and so we would have to wait, even though we had previously said we needed to be at a wedding by midday and were told this wouldn't be a problem. I found the check in staff, which I believe was the manager, very rude as well as the restaurant staff that takes payment and seat guests. I was in a large group waiting to be seated, and the staff member seated my brothers family, who were directly in front of me in the queue. He then allowed another party to push straight to the front and take the table next to my brothers, even though we prebooked it. He then stood on the other side of the restaurant pretending he couldn't see us, even though he had just been standing next to us, and then after a few minutes came back and ask wanted a seat. I have no idea what that was all about. This was a very nice hotel, but based on the experience with the staff, I wouldn't return and would suggest others avoid it.

It was a clean, welcoming, and comfortable stay. The staff were polite and helpful throughout but one team member, Jon truly went above and beyond. He was incredibly helpful and couldn’t do enough for me, my partner, and our children—whether it was finding us local resources and activities or helping us choose a favourite from the menu. His exceptional customer service really made a difference to our experience.

James and his team were very friendly and accommodating. They leant my Mum a phone charger too!

We arrived after a long journey and found the check in very easy at the electronic check in desk. The room was a good size and found to be very clean and tidy. After our long day we decided to have a meal in the hotel restaurant. We were met by a very friendly and helpful waitress, called Tui. She gave us a really warm welcome with prompt service, just what we needed after a long day. The menu was also very good and the food served very tasty that exceeded expectations. The same bright and cheerful Tui met us at breakfast again with the most friendly of welcomes, providing exceptional service. She without a doubt has made this a rememberable stay, combined with very good food and accommodation . Thank you.
