Lewes Town Centre hotel

18 of us stayed here during our 100 mile charity walk. All i can say is WOW! The FOH manager was so helpful and kind. Enabled me to check in early and donated to our charity. Also left a hand written note in each room with a treat to keep everyone going! Amazing service and went well over their job role, thank you, it is very much appreciated.

We booked into our hotel the day before a family wedding. My wife and I entered our room and opened the curtains only to be greeted by a load of erected scaffolding. Not at any point were we informed about the scaffolding. So we carried on with our day and then went to bed and woke the next morning. As most people will know not everyone sleeps in pjs or nightwear, so my wife got up wearing just her underwear and to get some daylight in the room, she opened the curtains. To my absolute shock and disgust there was a construction worker outside our window. The ladder that allows workers access to the roof was right outside our window. Therefore I went down to reception and complained, they apologised and said this should not happen however the local council was responsible for the scaffolding going up and that they had no say on the matter. My argument was that even though the council put it up, it is the hotels responsibility to liaise with the council. They were aware of the scaffolding yet still put us in that room. The duty manager briefly spoke with us and said to email the complaints department and that any refund matters have to do through them. We thanked her and then prepared to leave the hotel. Upon arriving back home we emailed the complaints team, explaining we had spent in excess of £130 for a room and basically had a peeping tom window into our room, there was no blackout material and yes we could have closed the curtains but why should I pay for a room and not have any natural light. So a few days pass and we get a response from the complaints team, they advise us that the issue was sent to Senior Management and as Managers do, they blame everyone else. We were told basically the same information about the local council is Lewes. The management apologised and that is all we got. I was not happy with this outcome considering we had spent a lot of money so I called them. The person on the phone said there will be an internal investigation into the failings and will be used to improve service, (well that's fantastic) but what about the money I spent and then had a peep show hotel room. No offer of a full or partial refund, just Sorry! Absolutely disgusted with outcome of this and shame on you Premier Inn senior management for being arrogant, unhelpful, money grabbing douches!

We expected and received a clean and pleasing room from a Premier Inn, but I am bothering to write a review because the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the cooked breakfast was perfectly prepared and above expectations.

came for breakfast this morning. We were served by Charlie and Hope and they were so lovely and efficient. Food was hot and came out really quick. We will be back!!

A perfect base to spend a few days exploring Lewes. The usual comfort and value you would expect from Premier with Ali and his team providing friendly, helpful and efficient service. We will definitely be back...
