"Enshitification of the Premier In continues"
Booked in for business, 2 nights.
Checked in ok, and got up to my standard room fairly quickly. This Premier Inn has been re-done recently and what i noticed was how bare the room felt. Gone are the desk, the sofa and most wardrobe space. It felt like a Travelodge room, or worse. The carpets are plasticy. The whole thing felt too minimal, cheap and tacky.
Oh and no air con in the room, although this is mentioned on their website in some tiny section. This place will be unbearable at the height of summer!
I made the mistake of including breakfast. I've had some great Premier Inn breakfasts, but when they are made to order. In their latest cost cutting that's gone, and is instead a buffet. This meant the food was drier than a dehumidifer both mornings.
Tip: Save some money and go for a McDonalds breakfast which is just over the road!
I made the mistake of trying dinner in the new Social restaurant, which replaced the pub that used to be on site. In short it was awful; worst meal of my life. You have to book at reception, except they don't pass that on to the restaurant. They had run out of a third of the mains by 7:30PM, and the hotel wasn't that busy. The food quality itself was dire; chicken wings drowned in a whole bottle of sauce, and a burger that had been cooked - no sorry re-heated to within an inch of its life. The chips were burnt too. It's basically a really bad Weatherspoons.
Only McDonalds is within Walking distance, and there aren't a huge number of restaurants on Deliveroo in the area. If you want a good meal you'll need to drive.
Would i go again? No, there are better hotels at a similar price like the Eastern Sussex National. Sadly this looks like the direction Premier Inn are going, undercutting Travelodge in terms of quality. They won't be around much longer at this rate!

"A comfortable and convenient stay that could be better with a few small tweaks."
The location was very convenient for where we were heading, with the added bonus of a petrol station and fast food options just across the road.
Overall, the hotel appeared clean, and the receptionist was friendly, welcoming, and very informative. Our room was a great size, and the bed was comfortable, which made for a pleasant stay. It was also nice to have a full-length mirror, as well as a dedicated space for hair and makeup with a mirror and hairdryer provided.
The bathroom, however, could have benefited from a more detailed clean, as there was some shampoo residue and a few hairs left from previous guests, which brought it slightly below the standard I expected.
There was free WiFi available, although I found the signal in the area for me to be strong enough without needing it. Tea and coffee facilities were provided, but offering extras like hot chocolate sachets and a wider selection of teas would be a nice touch for guests.
The blackout curtains worked very well, helping ensure a good night’s sleep. There was some noise from other guests and from lorries outside collecting or disposing of rubbish/recycling, but this is understandable and didn’t significantly impact our stay.
Breakfast was booked the evening we arrived. While the dining area itself was pleasant, this part of the experience was a little disappointing. There was some dirty crockery left on tables, and although there was a good range of self-serve options, many items (including eggs and sausages) had run out by the time we arrived at our allocated slot. Staff were eating their own breakfast at the time, and while they were happy to prepare eggs when we asked, it would have been better if items had been checked and replenished in advance.
Overall, we had a good stay. With a few small improvements, this could easily be an excellent experience.

"Best Premier Inn I've ever stayed at, just needs a bar"
So much good to say. We were in the new part and it was superb, feeling quite luxurious. The bed was so comfortable and bathroom well appointed. Particularly impressed with the purple light so visiting the bathroom in the night wasn't intrusive.
The shower was a treat. Clean and high pressure.
Everything was spotless
Breakfast was superb. Hannah our chef cooked whatever you wanted, beautifully.
Downside. For some reason there is no bar. They have a limited array of wine and spirits in cans! Really. As a breakfast room the space is nice but not for a bar. As the location is not walkable to the nearest pub it means you can't relax at night with a drink. A huge mistake as there is no relaxing welcoming space. We ended up sitting on our bed by 830pm!
The evening food looked very much a 'ping menu' and not attractive. Such a shame after providing fresh lovely breakfasts. This is a great hotel but needs to rethink the residents entertainment
Other than that it would get a give 5 star. No water machines Insitu get so no real means of getting water.

"Fantastic New Design Standard Room"
Free parking - amazing. We booked a standard room which was one of the new design rooms. Oh my goodness i felt like I was a top 5 star hotel. The interior is amazing - loved the grey tones and the purple mood lighting in the bathroom! Felt clean and safe! Very quiet and had a beautiful sleep. McDonald's over the road so we used that for breakfast. The hotel had a loairive effect on us and we extended out stay! Customer service i cannot comment on as it was a quick check in check out. We were in a operate building which was very quiet.
