Eastbourne (Polegate) hotel

Soulless location adjoining and Asda Express and a MacDonalds. Comfortable enough but no air-conditioning, just a fan. The big problem is that the food arrangements are the worst I've ever experienced. Poor dining area, limited menu with no bottled wines; just tins. Standard of food was dreadful and associated service fell miles short of what you might reasonably expect at a Premier Inn. Burgers were tasteless and greasy. Chicken tikka skewers looked like animal droppings and were dry and inedible. Dips on menu were not available and the accompanying salad was lifeless and undressed. Fries were cold and limited in quantity. Waitress and chef were completely disorganised. No logic to order handling amongst customers present. Complained about the meals and asked for the manager. Was told to just go and not to bother about the bill as I'd ruined her aleady bad day. Prepaid breakfast was cancelled at reception and refund sought given the evening meal experience.

Great location to see family and friends. Close to Eastbourne, Brighton, Lewes etc. The new block needs bigger beds and the older block needs walk in showers, fridge and air conditioning. Very clean and friendly staff.

Rooms are way too hot with no air conditioning windows don’t opening enough to get air in the room. No ventilation in the corridors took a recording of the temperature in the room at 34 Celsius.

My kids and I love a premier inn. This stay was full of the usual excitement and anticipation of a great breakfast with so much choice. Welcome was great, craziness of my kids on entering the room and trying to get the tv and WiFi connected to our devices exceptional. First disappointment blood on the mattress protector, and not just a little. Too late to get dressed and have reception informed to sort it out so just removed it and got on with story time. Kids loved the continental breakfast, so much to try and so many leftovers for me to eat. As vegetarians our party of 5 (paid for guests to join us) were offers made to order veggie sausages and veggie bacon. No sausages, oh well. Let’s enjoy the rest of the made to order hot breakfast, and we did. Chef was super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We left with bellies over full and a great time was had by all.

As a returning guest, it was lovely to see the new renovations that have been made. The new building is really lovely, nice and clean, with all you need. The existing building has had some work but we didn’t get to see the rooms there. The breakfast room is nice, with breakfast done as a buffet made our day that little easier. Nice and hot. As always, the staff are friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble, especially from the receptionist Leila who goes out of her way. Nice to see some new faces too. Will always stay at this premier inn when visiting family.
