"Observation of very poor Health and Hygiene within the restaurant"
I am unsure if this is the correct place to be writing this, but here goes. We stayed one night at the Premier Inn. When we went to breakfast and was greeted by a very happy member of staff (I will call him the supervisor). Maybe a little hyper. We I was queuing for my hot breakfast a lady on the other side of the walk way had just made herself a hot coffee. She turned round to walk away and the supervisor at speed walked past her at speed and knocked her coffee all over her hand. This guy turn round looked and said sorry and kept walking. I went over to see if I could help. The lady put her hand in a jug of water that was on the counter. There was coffee all over the floor and pointed this out to a number of people as they passed. I caught the supervisor walking back past me and I pointed out the there was coffee all over the floor. NOTE signage had been put up saying slippery floor. Still in the queue which was very slow. The supervisor came back with a spray and blue paper and cleaned up the floor. He then stood up a proceed to whip the counter top and the coffee machine with the same cloth he had just cleaned the floor with. In absolute shock I went over and said “you have just cleaned the floor with that cloth and now you are cleaning the counter and machine with the same cloth. He looked at me, said something (including I will deep clean it now) and went off, returning with another cloth and wiped the counter and machine down. During this gap of time, no signage, no member of staff standing there and warning people. NO health and safety observed at all. A few moments later later, I noticed another gent go over to the lady with a clipboard at her table ( I presume a accident book) I carried on in the queue to get my breakfast observing the gent behind the counter. Every few moments he was pulling up his trousers and tucking his upper clothing in. Then handling a utensil that people are using to pick up the food. I have stayed here before and other Perminer inns but never have I witnessed anything like this before. I really think someone within the Premier Inn management team should go to the food establishment and do a risk assessments and some food health and hygiene awareness training.
"Third rate hotel - think before you stay here!"
Booking a premier plus room at the Weymouth Seafront Premier Inn would, we believed make our nostalgic trip back to Weymouth to meet some American relatives easy and close to perfect. Unfortunately this was not so and I can honestly say that this is the worst Premier Inn that I have ever stayed in. Firstly, beware, the hotel is not 'seafront' and has no views of the sea - there is a short walk along a path and across a relatively busy road to get to the esplanade. Secondly, the hotel has three floors and there is no lift and some very long, narrow corridors to negotiate. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and the first problem we met was the denial of a second keycard - we often ask for one each as there are times when one of us goes out early or returns to the room before the other. On arrival at our room, the next issue was getting in - the green light flashed, the handle turned but the door didn't budge. It took my husband's shoulder against it to get it to open, and on leaving the room, it took a mighty tug to get it open again. The room was like any other premier plus room until we went into the bathroom where we found a very stained and brown toilet bowl - unacceptable and unhygienic for a hotel room. During our stay we complained numerous times on a daily basis - staff at reception were very nice and smiley and promised to sort the door and clean the toilet, but this never happened. The manager was absent on a very busy weekend when the hotel was apparently full and we were advised to contact Guest Relations when we got home. We even requested a room clean on the 2nd day, hoping the toilet would get cleaned this way, but that didn't happen either. Having read previous reviews on this hotel now, I can see that cleanliness problems have been ongoing for quite some time. We are ploughing our way through a complaint process now as I believe this is not a hotel that reaches the Premier Inn normal standards and that some changes are needed. Please think carefully before you book.
"poor service"
booked aroom for 4 nignts then changed it to 5 when we booked in i asked about the free breakfast that was advertised i was told by reception that as i had booked an extra day i was no longer entiteld as i had broken the terms and conditions i asked to speak to the manager on thee different occasions but was always busy on wednesday morning at about six o/clock there was a knock on the door and someone entered when i complained to reception they didnt know any thing about it.when i complained to customer relations they said it was a cleaner what at six in the morning not only that but we chose not to have our room cleaned during our stay . having spoken to customer services they have refused to compensate me for the breakfast we did not get and for being disturbed so much for a good nights sleep or we will refund you
