Poole North hotel

The hotel is ok, but some maintenance issues. Air con not really worked in hot weather and only went down to 19c. So had very hot sticky nights sleep and tired next day. Lots of doors slamming too as so heavy. Breakfast was not very good either and running out of food etc.

We decided to stay here as it was close to an event we had planned, after 5 hours of driving we arrived at about 7:30pm we came down to the restaurant for 8pm and got told due to them being busy we couldn’t be seated until 9:15, this was absolutely fine so we had a few drinks at the bar, we sit down at the table at 9:15. Due to being incredibly understaffed we didn’t get our order taken till 9:45. It’s now 10:45pm and the staff come out to tell us they will no longer be serving food along with telling another 4/5 families, some which have been waiting longer than us. The excuse of the kitchen is broken but we all knew it was due to the restaurant was supposed to shut at 10pm and they still had 20 people to feed. No other option was given to us or the other families just that’s it we’re closed now, no snacks or apologies. This premier inn is on an industrial Estate with no pub or food establishment nearby and due to it now being so late everywhere was shut. In the end we had to get a takeaway dropped off. The next morning…. We had prepaid for 2 of the all you can eat breakfast options. Breakfast started at 7:00am, we arrived at 7:30am to more than half the buffet options depleted and a huge que, in the Que was one of the families that didn’t get food last night and now can’t get breakfast (see attached pic) this was beyond a joke now, yet again no apologies. This hotel is clearly understaffed.

rooms very good , neat and tidy, close to the ferry port excellent , some staff happy to help, others not so keen, own the heat of the time the building was a cool place to be , especially the room

Car park fills up quickly and only just enough spaces. I got back around 10:30pm and had almost the last spot. Remember to put your number plate in the tablet as you go in. The hotel is advertised as having air conditioning but only goes to 19 Celsius on its lowest setting and speed is slow so wouldn't call this air conditioning at all. Windows opened which was good to get some air in. Easy to find so location is good. Room was clean and tidy as you would expect from any Premier Inn. Check in was good with a friendly member of staff welcoming me. Beds were comfy.

The staff were lovely & very helpful. A special mention must go to Sammy on reception at nighttime & Michael on housekeeping at nighttime for being so kind & understanding when helping our family move rooms at 2am due to a faulty air conditioning unit. Sammy organised complementary breakfast for the morning and the breakfast staff were again very lovely & welcoming. Additional mention to Roberto on reception the following morning for helping me with my room key & advising how to make a compliment to the night staff. Overall stay marred by issues with the self-check-in system & the broken air con unit. However, the hotel was clean & modern with a nice atmosphere & plenty of parking. The staff were great.
