Poole North hotel

This is our last night of a four night stay & we have had the best time. The location is good. Our room was very clean. The food is great & all the staff are amazing. Special mentions to Kieran, Punam, Louie & Lily. They are work really hard & are very friendly. They are all a credit to the company. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

We have stayed at this hotel several times before and always found it excellent but sadly not this time. The decor is looking tired throughout and in need of a refresh. Our room was clean and there was the usual comfortable bed but the aircon/heating unit made a loud noise all of the time it was on and clearly needs replacing. However, the main problems were in restaurant, where we had breakfast and dinner. We invited some local family members to join us for dinner. Several of the staff serving drinks and meals were insufficiently trained. They either didn't write down our orders properly or didn't read what they had written, so the wrong things were brought to us. Also, the chef had decided to add huge amounts of chilli to savoury dishes where the menu didn't state that chilli would be included. He put so many raw chillis into what was described as a medium spiced curry that it was completely inedible, The server apologised and offered a refund or another dish. I ordered another dish but waited so long for it that my companions had finished theirs before I got it. When we left another member of staff tried to charge us for the inedible meal and argued with my husband when he explained why we had ordered another. The staff also permitted a group of children to sit in the restaurant playing games, which wouldn't have been a problem but, despite sitting closely together, they were shouting at each other and over boiterous. They appeared to be unsupervised and no-one asked them to keep the noise down. Their noisiness caused other diners to speak very loudly to make themselves heard and made it almost impossible for us to have a conversation at our table.

What was good was the easy check in, the helpful staff and a great dinner, although why I couldn't pre-book the dinner as the meal deal was not a possibility as we need to leave at 3:30 the next morning for an early flight. We were given Room 327 which seemed OK, getting a bit sad but good enough. However around 5:30 suddenly there was a very loud sound of rushing air and a loud rumble from the roof above our room. It was so loud that it drowned the TV which we were watching whilst waiting for our meal reservation time (6:30pm). I went down to reception to report the noise and the 'manager' sent up someone to resolve it, however he was unable to do anything as the 'manager had thought it was the bathroom fan, which it wasn't! Please Note: at no time during our stay did we put on the aircon as the room was comfortable without it on, so the noise was NOT aircon related! The manager then came up and I explained that we couldn't sleep through the noise and that as far as we were concerned Premier Inn's promise was a good night sleep!! The manager after checking stated that it was an extractor unit on the roof above our room (I believe from the Kitchen which our room was above)! He stated that it would be switched off at 9pm! I was of course annoyed and it forced us to delay our bed time! However the noise did not stop until 9:20pm so we lost even more sleep and went to bed fearful of it starting again!! I have never experienced anything like the noise and it certainly was not something that I wasn't to experience again! I do have recordings of the rumble whilst the TV was on and it is apparent from them that it is louder than the TV!

Restaurant staff I found to be very racist they refused to serve me but were happy to serve white guests and was courteous and welcoming to white guests
