"Very Good"
Clean and good breakfast. Staff helpful, especially Matthew. Walking distance of all of Dorchester, including both stations.
"Horrible place, the manager on an evening is disgusting. Last time i stay here. Id rather stay in a hostel and take my chances "
Poor staff, receptionist was lovely the bar and restaurant staff/ manager needs sacking, horrible man with the professionalism of a dead slug, this happened last year too, the last time i stay here
"Outstanding family-friendly stay, staff went above and beyond"
We stayed at the Premier Inn in Dorchester and honestly, our experience was nothing short of amazing. After a long 4-hour drive with a 17-month-old and a 5-year-old, we were warmly welcomed by Charlotte, who really went above and beyond to make sure we felt at ease. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her, and her genuine kindness set the tone for our whole stay. Charlotte also has fantastic local knowledge, she recommended we see the fireworks on the seafront, which turned out to be such a memorable evening for the kids, and pointed us towards Bennett’s Fish and Chips, which was absolutely spot on. Those little touches made such a big difference to our trip. Matt (also known as “Charlotte”!) was equally brilliant, always attentive and willing to help with a smile. Billy was quick to sort out any minor issues that cropped up, and Minir along with the rest of the kitchen team looked after us brilliantly every morning, my eggs were made perfectly without me even needing to ask, which was such a thoughtful detail. As a family, we felt so comfortable here, the staff were patient, friendly and genuinely welcoming towards our little ones, which made travelling with young children so much easier. It really felt like they cared about making our stay special, not just ticking boxes. The whole team made us feel completely looked after from start to finish. The service was top-notch, the staff genuinely cared, and it really made our trip stress-free and enjoyable. We honestly cannot fault a single thing and would happily recommend this Premier Inn to anyone visiting the area, especially families.
"Not good quality, and more expensive than we expected"
We booked this at short notice, so was not any cheaper than a normal 3 star hotel - so could not score a positive re cheapness. Pros: Underground car park is brilliant - lots of room, easy to find and it is cheap. Location is right by the main station, and next to a number of (chain) restaurants - of which Cote is excellent and Pizza Express was very good too. Cons: Food is very standard and not great quality. The so called orange juice in the morning is watered down? and the so called apple juice tastes metallic and nothing like apples. I did enjoy the dinner, but it is not memorable. Service is really non-existent. There was one lady who spent a lot of time on reception who is superb - and got me a number of things which a normal hotel would provide as standard - eg more hangers on request, and some bottles of water and another toilet roll for the room - but without her we would have had no water and run out of toilet paper, and no-one in the hotel would have cared. The staff we saw look like students having a summer job. I asked on check in for the room to be cleaned each day - this is meant to be a hotel, why on earth would you think the room should not be cleaned?? - and it was never cleaned, except once when I complained about this, and someone half heartedly cleared the bin liner out, and pulled the duvet over the bed, ignoring the very creased undersheet - er that's it! The room has 0 drawers - why? And only 3 hangers per person. Who stays in a hotel for more than a couple of nights with only 3 items of clothing. So we had to throw lots of clothes over the back of the armchairs. The shower was fine, and the a/c did work ok, though seemed to turn itself off quite quickly. I think if it had cost half of what we paid it would be fair not to employ full time staff and to only use cheap food ingredients, but it wasn't that cheap.
"Never again"
Came straight back home so called wet room was non-slip tiles with a free grab rails . Shower was over bath which completely unacceptable for those whith mobility needs
