Bournemouth/Ferndown hotel

I have stayed here once a month for 2 nights for about 6 months now. Great location. The guy on reception Leon is a true asset to the company. Always chatty and genuinely interested in talking to you. Other staff are also great. Rooms are clean. The adjacent pub restaurant (Beefeater) has recently closed so dining is not available but a continental breakfast is offered free. Unfortunately due to the restaurant soon opening as a Weatherspoons i think this will be my last visit here. Which is a shame.

It was great that a fan was provided in our room and the beds were made up without duvets due to the heatwave. Thankfully the staff moved us to a downstairs room at the back of the building which was the coolest place to be

Had I had known there was going to be a heatwave and the hotel did not have accommodation, I would have booked elsewhere. However, the hotel did attempt to lessen the impact of the heat by providing a 12 inch rotating fan to blow the hot air around the room. The digital thermometer read 33.5 and rose to 34 degrees Celsius. By the morning it had dropped to an amazing 33 degrees Celsius. Suffice to say, we did not have a 'guaranteed good night’s sleep’. Furthermore, the attached Pub where we were to have our breakfast in had closed the couple of days before our arrival necessitating in Premier Inn giving us a refund for the paid breakfast and, as a sweetener, providing a free breakfast. However, this consisted of cereal, sealed packet pastries and orange juice. Since we were going to TANKFEST for the day we were hoping for something a bit heartier to sustain us (two grown men) through the morning. Thankfully, there is a Sainsbury’s opposite the hotel, so I popped over for supplies. Had I have known that we were not going to be provided with the famous Continental breakfast I would have booked somewhere else. The Staff were as accommodating they could be within the limits of company policy. Suffice to say, I’ll be looking elsewhere when booking for TANKFEST in 2027.

We arrived early at 2pm on 23rd June after a long journey in the June heatwave. The man on Reception was very friendly and professional and as our room was ready we were able to sign in early. We were aware of the maintenance work in progress in the hotel and we were given a room "away from the action." Due to the maintenance work there was no kitchen or dining area but we already knew this in advance. A free breakfast was laid on which was great apart from there being no fruit by 7:30 am. Our only complaint. Room, staff, equipment all excellent.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Fan in room which was great as room very stuffy after the heat wave. Parking difficult as building work going on so had to park down from the hotel. . Beefeater next door for breakfast.
