Bournemouth/Ferndown hotel

We arrived early at 2pm on 23rd June after a long journey in the June heatwave. The man on Reception was very friendly and professional and as our room was ready we were able to sign in early. We were aware of the maintenance work in progress in the hotel and we were given a room "away from the action." Due to the maintenance work there was no kitchen or dining area but we already knew this in advance. A free breakfast was laid on which was great apart from there being no fruit by 7:30 am. Our only complaint. Room, staff, equipment all excellent.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Fan in room which was great as room very stuffy after the heat wave. Parking difficult as building work going on so had to park down from the hotel. . Beefeater next door for breakfast.

Easy access, just over 20min journey from Bournemouth seafront. Plenty of free parking (just log numberplate at check in). Friendly helpful staff. Was very hot andstuffy in room - but we stayed during the heatwave so can't really be helped!! Very grateful for the fan provided in the room. It would have been just as stuffy and hot at home!! We were a family of 2 adults 2 children. Both children had "proper" beds. One was the sofa bed and one was a trundle style, but both had decent single matress on so comfy nights sleep for all. The Beefeater breakfast was fab. And great value - the Beefeater does have air con - so that was lovely!!

Location was great to use as a base to explore the wider area like Bournmouth Beach, Poole Harbour, Burley, Beaulie and other places. Also convenient for local shops and take-a-ways. The staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. The room was well presented and clean but due to the really hot weather the room was extremely hot and stuffy, it was cooler to stand outside. That said more fans were provided which helped a little. Hardly heard any noise around the rooms when in them, which was great considering the place was pretty full. Overall I'd say this was a pretty good stay and good value.

Very welcoming. Comfy bed. Nice breakfast and evening meal. Staff very helpful. 5* given to them. Our issue with noisy vent sorted quickly.
