Bournemouth East Cliff hotel

I arrived at around 19:00 to find one girl running reception, the bar and dining room single handedly. Having checked into my room which was clean and comfortable I went straight to the restaurant where the same highly overworked girl gave me the list of unavailable meal choices which was most of the menu, so I agreed to pay a supplement and have steak. After waiting over an hour the chef revealed there was no steak either . This was at the end of a long day and several other customers had similar experience. Having regularly used and enjoyed Premier Inn in the past, it was immediately obvious there has been a massive cut in staff who are now overstretched and unable to provide the customary level of service. While this might look good to shareholders, as a customer I am unlikely to use Premier Inn again.

Great location for our needs. Comfortable room and beds and staff so friendly. Will return and will recommend to friends.

Name is a bit misleading, as it’s not on a cliff, but on a busy road a short distance from town centre. Underground parking at £11 per night. More for business guests than holidaymakers. I am not a fan of buffet breakfast, but food was tasty (although not piping hot). Reasonable dinner menu at good price, but portion size not great. Bedroom clean apartment from stains on both seats! Warm welcome by Henry on reception, who was considerate and helpful and went above and beyond.

It was my daughter’s birthday and she lives premier inn, we go every year. I informed the receptionist and they said that they would ask someone to sort something out in the room. This was not done. The rooms were so filthy and disgusting. The smell as you came into the room was very unpleasant. The bathroom had an old damp smell. There stains everywhere. The room was extremely run down with paint peeling off the walls. The carpet was absolutely filthy. There was hand print marks on the bathroom walls and on the windows. There was old blood stains on the duvet. Extremely unsanitary. When we went to breakfast the following morning, the plates and cutlery had food stains. The eggs were so rubbery. The worst place I have ever stayed in. I did inform the lady at reception and showed her the pictures. She didn’t seem to care. She didn’t apologise or offer to change the rooms. She just said there would be someone to clean the room. When I asked her how long it would be she said she didn’t know. We waited long time for someone to show up but ended up having to go and find someone to clean. I had to plea for the cleaner to come into the room as she was very irritated and reluctant. The service was disgusting. I asked her if she could at least clean the bathroom so that we can shower and enjoy the rest of my daughters birthday. Definitely will not be returning.

We just stayed here for a week, visiting family. The hotel was clean enough and the staff were friendly, but they were so under staffed. There would be one member of staff checking people in, serving drinks, sitting people in the restaurant and serving food - this resulted in bad service. The food needed a lot to be desired - breakfast was terrible. The bacon was super greasy and dry as anything, the fried eggs were generally pretty hard and it was almost impossible to serve yourself a breakfast as there was always so many elements of it missing. The evening food was just as bad, essential elements missing, which were just thrown on top after asking for what I’d ordered, and loads of dishes not on the menu or essential elements unavailable. It was super busy one morning at breakfast and a young lady, Daisy, was brilliant. I don’t know how she did it but she kept everything together. Shen worked so hard without flapping once and was really polite at all times. I was really impressed with her and hope they appreciate her.
