"Awful Stay"
We had an awful stay, the bed was very uncomfortable so meant we have awful sleep. We also had terrible trouble with the lift because the cleaners were using it, which meant we waited 15mins Sunday and Monday trying to get the lift as the cleaners keep using it a peak times of the day getting their cleaning stuff. I think they should be give a set time to us the lift and this shouldn't be when guests are trying to either get to breakfast on the 1st floor or when guests are trying to get to the ground floor to start their day, and it then puts a bit of a damper on to the start of there days. We came down with other family and had 5 rooms in total and they all have an awful experience as well, with 2 of the 5 rooms bathrooms flooding and trying to get hold of the staff was awful as well.

"Thank you premier inn"
I would like to say a big thank you to Jessica at Premier Inn Torquay. She was friendly, professional, and always happy to help. Her excellent customer service made our stay much more enjoyable. Jessica is a real credit to the hotel, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

"Poor hotel & lack of maintenance"
Room was not ready upon check in @ 16.20, Member of staff in reception put us in a different room. He came up to put the cot up.
Unfortunately because this was not our original room we therefore did not have enough towels!
Got more towels from cleaner but then our shower flooded (I have photos which i shall attached to a tripadvisor/google review) The bottom of the shower has not been cleaned whatsoever. Male member of staff sorted us clean towels as these had been used to mop the water up & he sorted the shower drainage.
Could not use the flexible shower head as it was broken (again photos taken) Cleaners hold the lifts in the morning (1 morning We waited 12 minutes for the lift) this is not acceptable. I would have took the stairs if it wasn't for a baby, pram & all the bags! I understand a lift is currently out of action, if so.. The cleaners need to not hold the lifts for there washing etc at 9am, there were many people complaining about it. I went to tell a member of staff about these issues but no one was to be seen in reception, I have a call log on my phone where i tried calling 6 times on sunday but could not get hold of anyone (no answer) was awoken by noisy guests both times middle of the night getting back, while i understand this is not the hotels fault all the other issues are. Oh and there was minimal toilet roll in the bathroom for a 2 night stay, I had to ask for more as it had not been filled up prior to our stay. Our party had booked 5 separate rooms and we have all left disappointed. Lift to car park was also broken but i believe this would be torquay council and not the hotels fault

"Don't be put off..."
I have just returned from a 3-day stay here - initially I felt a little trepidation after reading the poor reviews, which I found hard to credit having stayed in Premier Inns all around the coast for many years, without major problems. All I can say is that our room on the 4th floor was perfectly clean, particularly the bathroom which was sparkling. All the consumables were present, soap and tissue dispensers full, bed comfortable. The room was pleasantly cool on a very hot day and I turned off the A/C at night as it was not needed. There was no wait at the lifts, two pleasant staff on arrival at reception, easy plentiful parking accessed by an external Council lift, again no wait. I cannot explain how others have had such a contrasting experience, but I found this hotel to be excellent value for money and well up to the usual Premier Inn standard which always satisfies us. I can't comment on the bar or restaurant as we ate out.
Even the short walk down to (or more importantly, back up from) The Strand is not as strenuous as it looks on Google Streetview. You have a choice of a minute's climb down steep steps opposite the car park road (easily missed) coming out at the Apple and Parrot; or walking left out of the hotel then down Torwood Street (the easier walk); or turning right down to Fleet Street, coming out almost at the 'Spoon and the start of the shops. Either way the harbour area with its bars and restaurants is only minutes away, so the situation is excellent. Only those with very limited mobility would have problems. All considered. a very pleasant break in a lovely area. Take the ferry to Brixham from the harbour for an enjoyable 30 min trip across the bay, there are regular buses back and you can break the trip in Paignton, where the sea and pier are a few minutes walk from the bus station.

"This Premier needs a complete overhaul."
Filthy carpets everywhere including bedroom. Photographed excessive black mold in the shower including the shower heads. Reported and asked twice for it to be cleaned. A basket ball was left under the bed which could clearly be seen so had not been hoovered. Only one lift working. Allegedly the other had been out of action for months. Understaffed. Had to ask for air-conditioning to be switched on at the main control at reception. Room stiflingly hot as sealed window. Temperature preset at 19 degrees, not cold enough. Though the location is excellent, would not stay there again.
