Torquay Harbour hotel

We was checking in by Dj he was amazing but at breakfast we was greeted by William he was nice but then he started shouting at a colleague and the colleague walked out saying this job is not for me and was a horrible experience to watch. William is a bully and it’s not someone who should be a manager it’s so obvious to us surely the higher management can see this but I feel sorry for the colleagues who work there it must be so degrading for them.

Do not stay at this hotel, there were several of us that booked an early check in, some people waited up to three quarters of an hour to get their room, for us, we were going to a wedding, we ended up being 20 mins late for our sisters wedding because they didn’t get our room ready, even though we paid extra, the staff were absolutely useless at sorting it, really unhappy these idiots ruined our day.

Room services were very poor. We were there for three nights and the bins were not emptied even once. Nor did we have the tea and coffee facilities topped up at any time during the stay. The corridors were not cleaned and had remnants of a previous hen party paving the way to our rooms. Stray feathers from a boa were a constant existence. The lady who checked us in was not very welcoming either. The car park is a mission away right at the rear of a council owned part of it and is not clearly signposted for guests of the hotel. That said, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfasts and evening meal were excellent and very clean areas. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

Superb accommodation and fantastic support from the team. Especially Jessica, Summer and George. We were informed one of them had only started with the hotel today but all three demonstrated service we would hope to receive from seasoned professionals. A perfect example of why we choose Premier whenever we work away, great recruitment mixed with great experience. Thanks Prem.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in — do not book! This felt far more like an unserviced apartment than a hotel. During the five days we stayed, the experience was shocking. When we arrived, our room had clearly not been properly cleaned. It appeared that they had simply put out new towels and changed the bedding on the main bed — and that was it. The carpets smelled terrible, and our children’s bedding was filthy, with yellow stains on it! We asked for the room to be cleaned and were told it would have to wait until the following day. In the end, we had to change our children’s filthy bedding ourselves. The next day, after complaining twice more that our room still hadn’t been cleaned, someone finally came and vacuumed. This was the only time our room was cleaned during our entire stay. Further requests for cleaning were simply ignored. Most of the staff seemed completely uninterested and unwilling to help, with the exception of Jessica, who genuinely seemed to care and was one of the few positive aspects of our stay. She deserves recognition and, in my opinion, should be the one in charge. The public stairways also looked as though they had not been cleaned since the hotel opened two years ago. Breakfast was another disappointment. We arrived at 10:15am and were told we were “cutting it short”, despite breakfast supposedly being served until 10:30am. Staff had already started clearing everything away before the advertised finishing time. If staying in Torquay for more than four nights book the four day council parking permit at £31 which is cheaper and closer than the premier inn parking which is far from the hotel. use the RingGo parking app location id 15846 and covers all council car parks in the region. Overall, an extremely disappointing and frustrating stay. Poor cleanliness, poor service, and a complete lack of attention to guests’ concerns. We definitely will not be returning to Premier Inn again after being a loyal customer for years previously as the brand has been wrecked recently.
