"Take industrial ear plugs!"
We have stayed before, I stupidly forgot to take my own advice. We were put in a room on the ground floor not far from reception by the front entrance. The TV adverts promote a great nights sleep…ha…they didn’t try our room. It was impossible. It sounded like a veritable herd of tap dancing hippos in the room above us, the one morning it started at around 4am. Noise from people coming back to the hotel late added to the problems with noise. I get it, the hotel is used by numerous tradespeople judging by the number of work vans on the car park, they get in late, they go very early, but it makes it an uncomfortable experience if you are there to enjoy a little holiday break. As for the shower, well, be prepared for a lengthy one especially if you have long hair to wash. It was reported several times, but nothing done, I think they have turned the water pressure down, but could be wrong. The hotel redeems itself a bit because it’s in a great spot to leave the car and explore by foot, but not enough for me to stay again.

"Deteriorated over years, our last visit"
Sadly, this has deteriorated so much it will now be our last stay. We have supported this particular Premier Inn for years. Room 19 was clean but very, very tired. Housekeeping seem incapable of making a proper bed and the sheets don't even fit! Had to remake bed. If flat sheets are going to be used, make sure they fit AND teach the staff how to do 'hospital corners'! Amenities in room are now VERY basic. Bathroom only has fixed rain style shower in bath which is high to climb into with no grab rail or bath mat. Frankly, dangerous. Parking is not free but they gave it to us free as there was an error made by Reception but quickly sorted. Finally, room temperature was 22 and would not budge and fan was filthy inside with dust and doubt it has been cleaned since Spring. Location is fantastic and I cannot understand why it is being left to degrade.

"Does what is says on the tin…..but only just!"
Nice location with easy access to The Barbican.Check in time is 3pm.We arrived at 2:35 the room was ready BUT “not allowed in to room until 3pm”….It was chucking it down so they suggested we “sit in the car for 25 mins”…..which we did.Room was fine but feet stuck to the corridor carpets. The free! HOT breakfast which is actually part of the room rate so not Free….and Not hot either.Very poor breakfast and very warm. For the price? Well you get what you pay for really.

"Great location and relaxing stay"
I had a lovely stay at Premier Inn. Good location. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep, and the in-room facilities were just right, providing everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
However, the TV could definitely do with an update, and the parking charge for paying guests is disgraceful. It really lets the experience down when you're already paying to stay at the hotel.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay, particularly the comfort of the bed, but a few improvements would make the experience much better.

"Extremely Disappointing Restaurant Experience – Serious Management Improvements Needed"
Very disappointing restaurant experience – serious improvements needed
We stayed at Premier Inn Plymouth City Centre (Lockyers Quay) on 17 October 2026, having travelled from the Midlands for a sensitive family occasion concerning my late brother's ashes.
Firstly, the hotel accommodation and hotel staff were absolutely fine. Unfortunately, the restaurant experience was completely unacceptable.
Our party of eight attended dinner at approximately 6pm. The restaurant was extremely quiet, with only two other diners visible, yet the food and service were very poor.
My chicken curry had watery sauce, very little chicken and overcooked rice. My wife's chicken appeared undercooked and rubbery, while my daughter's katsu curry contained cold chicken, overcooked rice and excessively thick sauce. Another family member waited 20–30 minutes longer than everyone else for a burger.
Not once did a member of staff check whether our meals were satisfactory. I even had to approach the bar myself to request the bill.
Despite having personally booked and paid for five rooms and eight meal deals, I was questioned at our table, in front of my wife, about individual room numbers and payments, even after showing my receipt. I found this extremely embarrassing and unnecessary.
Later that evening, my wife and I returned for a final drink in remembrance of my brother. We were served at last orders without warning that we would be asked to leave approximately ten minutes later because the doors were being locked.
Breakfast the following morning was even worse. Hot food was served from what resembled a small trolley beneath heat lamps, with serving trays repeatedly empty. My daughter-in-law found frozen pancakes, and another guest told us she had waited approximately 30 minutes for hash browns.
There appeared to be sufficient staff, but little effective organisation or supervision. I do not blame the younger, inexperienced employees; proper training and direction are management responsibilities.
As a company director who regularly stays at Premier Inn hotels throughout the UK, I can honestly say this was the worst restaurant experience I have encountered at one of their hotels.
The hotel itself was fine, but the restaurant operation requires urgent management attention.
We paid £223.92 for eight meal deals, and I have submitted a formal complaint requesting a full refund.
Very disappointing, particularly given the circumstances of our family visit. I sincerely hope improvements are made so other guests do not experience the same problems.
