Paignton Seafront (Goodrington Sands) hotel

We really enjoyed staying at this premier inn. We booked a room with a sea view which was lovely. Yes the building is dated and can definitely do with a bit of TLC and it could have been a bit cleaner (bath had hairs in it and the window lots of finger prints) but the staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Location is unbeatable! We’d definitely come here again!

We both stayed here in the first week of October and no issues with the location at all as we were quite pleased. As it being out of season the atmosphere quiet and did take a bit of time for someone to attend to us( that’s due to being busy we both understand as doing jobs) we then made our way to the room. As it being a Friday evening when we arrived we decided to have some food in the pub that’s attached/part off this premier inn. However the choices of Drinks poor but understandable as out of season( later to find out being sold off?) but more disappointing was the Gammon steak Angela Wiggins had at £13 wasn’t worth it as the size of a pineapple plus the peas were cold……..though we never complained as understood it being out of season and the pub chain had gone bust. The room again standard as was the bed and comfy, but the room being next to main door you heard a few times but nothing to keep us awake from. The heating system looked new but no instructions for it( was done but was for the old one) and despite trying to Google it we could asked reception but it wasn’t required for it to be on. Also we find as per every other Premier Inn not enough tea/coffee facilities we had to take others from reception( but feel bad taking these) as both like strong and sweet tea/coffee just what’s provided isn’t enough hence it looked like too too many, I feel maybe a few extras could be in the rooms for people. As I’ve said no issues in comfy bed, towels , though a floor Matt for the floor would be a good idea as did overflow onto the floor so had to use a small hand towel to mop this up( happens at everyone we go to) next time we will bring our own!!! Otherwise perfect. Room/facilities 9/10 Bar/Food 3/10 Location. 10/10 Staff( whole lot) 10/10 Looking forward to our next premier inn visit and despite my scores above and comments, it’s not put us off visiting another, or should it stop you in booking here as its in an ideal location especially early morning to swing the sun rise if your booked in sea view rooms!!!! You won’t be disappointed and that gets 👍 up as it’s stunning.

The room was clean and comfortable. Parking seemed excessive at £9 per day for guests when its free in some premier inn. We only ate at breakfast during our stay, the servivecwas very slow and the quality of the food was inconsistent. Would recommendfor the room but not to eat here.

Hotel was great as always but the restaurant let it down. I accept whitbread are making changes to their business at the moment but please at least serve up decent grub.

Great location right by the beach and lovely staff but the hotel is very run down and needs some love. It’s a very poor premier inn
