"Dirty hotel"
This hotel is filthy and not what you would expect from a Premier Inn hotel.
There were white stains on the curtains, greasy marks on the headboard, hairs and dirt stains in the bathroom and so much dust. Genuinely the worst hotel Iâve stayed in. I booked a twin room and the beds were touching

"Some very good aspects but needs updating badly."
The Premier Inn Countess Wear is ideally situated to visit Exeter and Topsham being midway between the two, and on a convenient bus route which means you can leave your car in the free car park. It is situated on a busy roundabout and although you can hear the traffic it's not too intrusive. The accommodation is adequate and has all you need for a short stay, with a comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom. The staff were polite and helpful, breakfast (we had continental) plentiful and tasty.
However... It took two phone calls to make a booking, each of which lasted over almost 20 minutes before anyone picked up the call. The reservation wasn't confirmed by email. The hotel is very tired looking and shabby in places, made much worse by the restaurant accommodation which is what used to be the (now defunct) Beefeater eating house. It's dark and dingy and really in need of a substantial make-over - and the reception area is just a mess, too. The staff we met were really polite and helpful but the hotel really needs some updating.

"Worst ever!"
I had booked this hotel in Exeter for a stop off on my way further south. We arrived paid for the hotel and went to our room, number 34. I have never been expected to stay in such a filthy room before. Cobwebs, spillage in furniture and the Tv, thick dust everywhere, it looked like a store room. We refused to stay there and there were no other rooms available. After a 6 hour drive this was not what we expected. The manager eventually got us a room at another Premier Inn in Exeter, which was fine. I will never be staying at Countess Wear again, it was truly disgusting and to add insult to injury when I checked my bank I had been charged twice for the room that I never stayed in. Thankfully that has been sorted now.
