Bideford hotel

The Bideford Premier Inn is currently being extended so there is scaffolding on the property. I received several emails about this and possible disruption plus limited car park space. So not surprised to see part of the building covered in scaffolding. Great view from the site of the Premier Inn and once the building has been completed will look great from the rooms. We received a warm welcome from the receptionist and he stated if there were any questions they are available for us to answer. The reception also had leaflets plus a map about local attractions and extra tea/ coffee if required. Our room was upstairs and there is a lift if needed. The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The air conditioning worked which was necessary as over 27 degrees Celsius outside. We ate breakfast and the staff on duty were helpful and friendly. Great choice of food and the breakfasts were hot. There was a wildlife area outside and I saw some birds flying around which was pleasant and relaxing. We would stay at the Bideford Premier Inn again especially as by car is easy to visit local villages and towns.

Reasonably priced Sunday night stay, but I didn’t like that windows can’t be opened and only have noisy aircon. Also some annoying pointless economies: no water glasses and ungenerous tea/coffee supply.

Air con not working, bathroom extractor fan not working, corridors really hot & stuffy. Manager at breakfast was really rude & angry because we hadn't booked .. i have never come across someone so angry & rude , the place hardly anyone in their he escorted us out the door & when we complained at reception he had another go at us.

Hotel was fairly good a lot of building work on hotel extension which we were informed about and did not impact on out stay. bed was comfortable but the room had clearly not been completely cleaned, old tissue under bed and cobwebs around ceiling. Food was good. Overall not a bad place to stay for the money, i would stay there again.

We had a very comfortable overnight stay here on our way to Lundy. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the reception staff were helpful and efficient. The breakfast and evening meal deal was very good value for money. The breakfast selection is comprehensive.
