Bideford hotel

Nice hotel , staff could be a lot better ! Woman on reception said room not ready in a very matter of fact way even though it was 3-30 pm She said u can check in from 3 but the room not necessarily available 🤷🏻‍♂️ No point in checking in then . Very curt and did change her tone when I snapped back at her . First impressions are important . The bar / restaurant shuts at 10 for food promptly . One of the bar staff was also a bit rude Ordered a whisky with ice no mixer he put coke in , no big deal but when I asked him to change it his attitude was a bit off saying anyone can make a mistake, true but no need for a bad attitude. Tubby guy mid -late 30s . Seemed to have the hump thereafter . Hotel itself clean good location no faults just improve the staff's attitude please . Maybe they were having an off day

First time using Premium Inn's Premier Plus rooms and was very pleased with the room we got. Modern decor and spotlessly clean. Bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. It's located across the road from a retail park which included a small outlet shopping mall which was handy. Located just outside Bideford, most of the coastal resorts were no more than an hour or so journey time by car. I would recommend this Premier Inn.

1. Assumption that all guests have mobile phones. We do not. No phone connection from room to reception or other guest rooms. Dangerous,, with possibly fatal consequences. 2. No grab handles or emergency alarm pull cord in shower. Even guests who have a mobile phone do not take them into the shower. Dangerous, with possibly fatal consequences. 3. Long walk to neighbouring building for breakfast. I am disabled and appreciated help from excellent staff members. Would have been even worse if it had been raining. 4. Comfortable bed. Difficulty finding on/off light switch in high-tech headboard - it is carefully concealed behind lampshade. On/off light switch not reachable from lying down position. 5. Excellent cooked breakfast, wide selection, perfect start to the day. 6. Excellent, friendly and very helpful staff on reception and at breakfast. They should be commended. 7. Car parking facilities excellent. Location of hotel easy to find.

Our stay was pleasant and comfortable with basic facilities. It was satisfactory for just one night. Car parking was easy and straight outside the hotel, it was easy to find and within walking distance to a couple of supermarkets and other shops, a McDonald's and a Dominos. The bathroom had a couple of small issues like a leaky shower and some black mould spots but otherwise was clean and functional. We had plenty of towels and also extra pillows for the beds which was helpful. There wasn't a great deal of floor space with all the beds taking up most of the room. I thought it was expensive for what we got but this was our first stay in a hotel as a family so maybe our expectations were too high! We had to go across the road for breakfast at Brewers Fayre, it was ok, nothing special. The staff at Brewers Fayre and Premier Inn were kind and friendly. If it was £50 cheaper I would stay again but I wouldn't rush to for the same price.

We stayed for two nights and overall the experience was very good. However, a few issues prevented it from being a five-star. The place needed a proper clean and our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. Apparently, you have to ask for a mid-stay clean and a bed-make.
