"The Premier plus room was small, outside areas of the restaurant were filthy with litter and cigarette ends ."
Recently stayed for 3 nights in one of the new Premier plus rooms. 202. Got to say the room was much smaller than the non Premier plus rooms . The shower room was the smallest bathroom we'd ever seen at a Premier Inn. Although it was modern and newly decorated. There is no lift to the 1st floor on this section of the hotel. So you have to carry cases up a flight of stairs. Could be an issue to some travellers if you are disabled or elderly. This wasn't mentioned on check in. Don't think we've ever stayed at a Premier Inn without a lift. The other main gripe would be the state of the outside areas around the restaurant/ pub nextdoor. We've never seen such a build up of litter and cigarette ends on the floor and around the outside tables. Obviously not cleaned for months. The cigarette bin outside the main entrance to the restaurant/ pub was so full of cigarette ends, that people had began to pile them up into a pyramid on top of the bin. The paint was peeling from the outside of the restaurant building , with rotten timber visible on the supporting timbers to the canopy's. Not very pleasant for outside dining or drinking. Also due to apparent supply issues, the breakfast menu had lots of items not available. Baked beans , croissants, etc etc And we decided on our last day not to buy breakfast there.
"Happy stay"
We stayed for two nights, the lovely receptionist was very kind and let us check in 15 minutes early as the rooms were ready. Our room was clean, well maintained with a comfortable bed, peaceful nights sleep and the bathroom had a good shower. Register for plenty of free parking. We enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners at the pub next door.
"needs urgent upgrade"
Clean and comfy bed, but the room and bathroom need a total referb. The rest of the building needs an upgrade. Restaurant needs urgent replacement and modernising. Very busy but staff can hardly cope.
"Disappointed"
Very run down hotel, as you enter the hotel itself the ceiling was cracked and looks to of had water damage, the hotel room was very hot, no air con, but a single tall fan that barely cooled us down. Mould in the bathroom and on the bath room door, very grubby and clearly haven't been cleaned properly. Staff were very friendly though, very welcoming.
"Not a typical Premier Inn"
We love a Premier Inn but not this one.. We had a room in the annexe which is in dire need of a refurb. The carpets need replacing throughout and our bathroom was run down and grubby. The bed was of the usual standard. No air con, just a fan. On the positive side, all the staff were welcoming and helpful.
