"A Room With A Smell???"
Stayed for 4 nights. The first night I was in room 221. Though clean, the room did not smell pleasant at all... like an old vacuum cleaner bag or old, sweaty socks.
I thought it might disappear overnight but it didn't. Even air freshener didn't help.
Not sure what was causing it, so got a room change... next door to room 223 as not much else available.
Initially room 223 smelled fine, but when I put the air-conditioning on to cool the room down, that smell was noticeable, but to a far lesser degree than in room 221.
With temperatures hitting 30 degrees Celsius and above during my stay, putting the air conditioning on at times was necessary.
It isn't possible to open the windows to air the rooms at this hotel.
I remained in room 223 for 3 of my 4 nights.
Also got the person next door to room 221 on my first nights stay endlessly flicking switches on and off...incredibly annoying as was very audible.
I have no issues with any of the staff at this hotel, but perhaps the air-conditioning system needs an overhaul.

"Best Premier Inn yet"
Stayed here for a long weekend. Check in was relatively straight forward, although I have to be honest and say that others had to wait up to an hour because they didn't know how to use the auto check-in & there were no staff available to help.
Rooms were clean and tidy and although we were a little bit uneasy about there being no windows to open in our room, the Aircon turned out to be brilliant - kept the room at a nice 19⁰c when it was almost 30 outside.
Breakfast was brilliant, the best we've had in a Premier Inn. We only had an evening meal once (as there were limited bookings available due to staff shortages) and that too, was brilliant.
Staff, where we encountered them were all excellent, extremely helpful & professional.
Only 1 issue for me - people above us were incredibly heavy footed and seemed to up and about all hours of the night.
We visit this area a lot and usually stay closer to the M1, but we've decided we will be coming here again for our next visit.

"Martha is the star of Premier Inn"
We are currently on a road trip so have stayed at Premier Inns in Beverley,Harrogate,Barnsley and ending in Matlock. We checked in about 5pm however the whole key system was down so we couldn't enter our room. Had to go back to reception where the lovely Martha accompanied us to let us in. The TV was playing up so we had to go back to reception again. Martha offered us another room which wasn't acceptable so we went back to original room and fixed TV. Martha offered us a complimentary meal due to the numerous issues we experienced. That made this review a 5 star as she appreciated the client experience. Martha deserves a pay rise as she was so calm with every guest that she had to inform the keys are not working and she had to accompany every guest to their room.
