Derby West hotel

We have stayed in many PI, this stay has been very disappointing. The main bed was very uncomfortable - kids put up beds were comfier. Breakfast was far too busy for one serving & one chef. Dinner was great. No one available at check out to address concerns. None of the staff seemed very happy in their work.

Room was very basic and lack of plugs and it had a bad smell, friend down the hall had a much nicer room. Beds were comfy and clean. Bar/ restaurant area is tiny, told us we couldn't eat there as only one chef on despite being fully booked and you could see through to the kitchen and the previous nights food was left all over the hotplate and floor. No lift in this hotel. Will actively avoid in future.

I’ve used this premier inn three times so far and just booked a fourth stay. Location is great for visits to Alton towers: close enough to get to the park easily but far enough out that it’s more budget friendly than some of the closer accommodation. I did prefer when it had the adjoining pub as its restaurant because this meant I could invite friends from the area to join us for our evening meal, and while I understand that the new restaurant is the direction premier inn are going in, it feels much less flexible and creates work finding alternate places to eat with friends. I love that this hotel is next to an Aldi, providing cheap snacks and drinks to take with us for our days out. Overall this hotel gives us the consistent service and standards we expect from a premier inn stay combined with a budget friendly way to visit one of our favourite attractions

Impromptu visit, as I needed assistance with something. Really grateful to the Lady on duty we shared stories and she helped in me in a bit of one of life’s emergencies. Thanks so much x

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Breakfast was well presented and tasty.
