Derby South hotel

excellent and entertaining to say the least. took far too long to find the hotel. but on arrival was nice to see a smily face checking me and a fellow associate in. room clean and no gripes from me. didnt eat at the estbalishment next door. becomes tiresome when on the road seeing the same monotonous menu. overall good stay

From the moment my husband and I arrived, we were made to feel welcomed by the lady on reception. Our room was warm and inviting as the heater was on which was great as it was a really cold day. The room was tastefully decorated with lovely pictures. Lovely, romantic touch with the box of chocolates, heart-shaped candy on a stick, chocolate, rose & a bag of heart-shaped marshmallows - pity there was no hot chocolate to compliment the marshmallows, but we still appreciated the romantic gesture! Bed was so comfortable with the most amazing duvet! Unfortunately the pink back-light was only pink a tiny bit at the start and end of the headboard which was disappointing but didn't detract from the it still being a nice room. Shower was divine!! Constant hot water and shower pressure and size of shower head was perfect! Beautiful and soft towels! Paintwork in bathroom & bedroom could do with a fresh lick of paint. During the night we had an issue with the noise of the fan not switching itself off. The night-time porter was so accommodating, polite and helpful to help solve the issue. Morning receptionist was happy to locate me a softer pillow for our second night stay. She was so kind and offered to place the pillow in our room while we were out. On return, and true to her word, the soft pillow was in our room! I can't comment about the onsite restaurant as we didn't stay for any meals as we were out and about during our stay. Great value for money as we managed to get discount for the two nights we stayed. Would definitely recommend Premier Inn (next door to the Oasthouse). ▪︎ A choice of pillows would have been useful rather than there only being firm pillows. ▪︎ Instructions in each room on how to silence the noise of the fan during the night ▪︎ Paintwork needs touching up in bedroom & bathroom ▪︎ Would have been lovely to have sachets of hot chocolate to compliment the bag of heart-shaped marshmallows

On arrival Emma was so polite and courteous to both myself and brother. Nothing was to hard and made my stay very relaxing

Great location and a great atmosphere. Lovely friendly staff ( reception, bar/restaurant, cleaners) loved my room and it was good value for a Saturday night. Was a little noisy in the lounge area due to young children running around but other than that it was a lovely evening.
