Whitehaven hotel

Rooms were acceptable and staff were friendly. The restraunt was appalling. Half the menu was unavailable and service was very slow. Breakfast offered little choice and food was not restocked as it ran out and most of it cooked breakfast was cold.

Actually stay was excellent but due to breakfast was not good hence rated as Poor. Even restaurant service was not available

We spent 1 night here and glad that was all . The room was very tired looking rusty mirror and shower accessories. Boiling hot due to no air conditioning and filthy fan that was more than useless . Breakfast was atrocious , the hot buffet was cold and customer after customer asked for it to be replaced to no avail! I asked for pain au chocolate to be told they didn’t have any! Time after time customers were complaining and one family of four just walked out. I have been a patron of Premier Inns for many years and have never been so disappointed by the whole experience!

Stayed at the Premier Inn Whitehaven and honestly the outside looks like a 1970s council estate that’s lost the will to live 😭 Check-in though? Fair play, staff were really nice and friendly 👍 Then we got to Room 2… wow. The smell. Imagine someone piping pub extractor fumes directly into your bedroom window 🍟🍺💨. To make things even better, every time the washing machine upstairs went on, the whole room vibrated like we were preparing for take-off at Heathrow ✈️😂 Reported it to staff and they did say they wouldn’t use the washing machine again that night, so credit where it’s due. Bed was lumpier than the Lake District roads, and after deciding we needed a drink to recover, we went into the pub attached… only to be greeted by the delightful aroma of bleach mixed with public toilet 🚽🧴. We genuinely turned round and left. Breakfast next morning? The smell had calmed down slightly but was still hanging around like an unwanted guest. Food itself was pretty grim too. Come on Whitehaven Premier Inn… be better. Take a trip over to Premier Inn Cockermouth and see how it’s done properly 😅

We had a lovely stay here for 6 nights, the staff were helpful. The room was one of the cleanest ive stayed in. We had a room that looked out onto the sheep next door and it was a real joy waking up to them each day before starting our adventures into the lakes. I could not faul the hotel. We did not use the brewers fayre and the outside could use a freshen up as it looks a little run down. But inside was lovely and I would happily return here.
