"Just okay,,,,,,,,,"
This hotel was generally okay but they charged £13.50 a day for parking, and the staff weren’t able to tell me about the charge rate if we left the car there after check out.
We went to have dinner in the hotel but as we had not pre booked and pre paid we were turned away by a surly rude man. He said he was cooking & serving so he could not do more people’s dinner. I was furious at the way we were spoken too. The situation was fine but his attitude and treatment of guests was not. Not my best Premier Inn experience 😢

"Good location - expensive parking"
Typical Premier Inn - clean, comfortable and spacious rooms with view over the hills
Central location opposite the Pencil Museum
Parking at £13 per night was very expensive
Staff at breakfast were friendly and welcoming

"Fab family stay"
Great location, close enough to walk into town for shops/restaurants etc, but just far enough out that it doesn’t feel too busy. (Also there was a quite loud festival/convention going on over the road when we stayed and we can confirm you won’t hear a thing inside your room - very happy with that!). We used the check in kiosk and although the QR code didn’t want to play ball, you have the option to type in your booking reference or lead guest’s surname to find your booking quickly enough and it will either discreetly display your room number or print it out on a slip for you if you need that. You can also create a second room key at the kiosk if needed. Parking is easy to sort on the tablet in reception.
As the advert says, you know what you’re getting! Very good value for a clean and tidy family room with en-suite. Breakfast was lovely (very busy but still went smoothly even when unexpectedly understaffed). Housekeeping were great and super helpful. Great place to stay with friendly staff and a good atmosphere.
Special thanks to Paul and Sam - fab lads who made our stay even better! Definitely won’t hesitate to book again when we next visit Keswick :)

"Great stay! (Don’t take the negative reviews on here too seriously)"
After reading some negative reviews and very nearly looking elsewhere. I decided to take my chances and see for myself. Very pleased I wasn’t put off by the minority!
We stayed midweek Thursday 30th-Friday 31st July
Parking: yes, parking is limited for the size of the hotel. Although I was lucky enough to find parking onsite at £13 per 24hrs. Had we not, there was plenty of other nearby car parks to use. Some even a bit cheaper. But we used the onsite option until we familiarised ourselves with the area then parked elsewhere for our next day in Keswick. Just do your research of the area first.
Staff and check in: Check was easy enough. Although my QR code would not scan at the self check in, but a nearby female staff member could see I was having problems and guided me how to type in the booking reference instead.
Breakfast: included breakfast during booking our stay. Very nearly didn’t due to some reviews but after some research a lot of the local cafes didn’t open until 9am and we needed to start our day earlier so this fit well with our plans. Went down at 8am. Was pretty quiet at this time. Was greeted by a male with a good sense of humour (even at that time in the morning!) Every item was available and fresh eggs were coming out continuously. Myself, husband and son were more than happy with the good filling breakfast to set us up for our hike up Catbells.
Room: Room 201 was a double and single bed. Had a pretty view of the mountains. Most importantly to us the bathroom was clean. Shower gel provided. Extra pillows available. Tea, coffee and kettle. And due to the great weather we had, the saviour was the air conditioning. It worked amazingly!
Would definitely recommend. Thank You!
