Overall the hotel is comfy as a standard room you would expect from premier inn. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Hazel and Rose at the restaurant has ensured we are looked after. Jade at reception was ever so helpful in sorting the issue with our aircon in the room thats not working properly. It was so hot in the room. She quickly changed our room and all good and cheerful. The only reason I gave 4stars and not 5, is the food and drink options for dinner wasn't as great as quite a few things on menu they ran out. Also room only have 1 bath towel, even it's booked for 2 people stay. We ended up popping downstairs to get another towel. But generally we are happy with our stay and staffs are friendly and helpful. Will recommend.
"Satisfied but not the best I’ve visited."
Checked in to be told no restaurant for evening meal which meant additional cost using external restaurant. Hotel staff couldn’t recommend any restaurant due to limited knowledge of area. WiFi apparently super fast at a cost of £8 for 24 hours was far slowing than using 5G. Waste of money. Breakfast OK. Room however was exceptional. Premier Plus. Bit expensive but understandable regarding location in summer time. Staffing levels not brilliant, but friendly.
"Rubbish Good Nights Sleep Guarantee"
My wife had a very bad nights sleep on our first night at Kendal Premier Inn due to the mattress. We have stayed at many Premier Inns, both before and since, and have had no other problem. Reported to Reception who arranged, at great length, for a room change. Claimed against Good Nights Sleep Guarantee and failed then failed again for the same reason when we appealed. Reception stated to me that all Kendal P I beds were wonderful and what’s more they were relatively new so of course were without fault. Weirdly, these were the grounds used to twice reject our claim. Not that Reception ever felt the need to actually examine the bed. Not happy with Premier Inn for taking the word of misguided “loyal” staff over loyal customers. Not a good way to run a business.
"Basically good but a few little problems"
Overall the Premier Inn was good. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and had a beautiful view of the adjacent park. Which was nice to stroll around after breakfast. Room 205. Although, the low score is due to the lack of air conditioning. It was very hot. I had a shower in the morning and was dripping with sweat minutes after. We were informed the air conditioning was not working but we hadn't realised what a big problem that was. The windows did not open so no relief there. We booked a time for breakfast, which was paid for on booking and was told they did not have our booking. It was made into a big problem when it shouldn't have. But the rest of the staff were excellent and breakfast was good.
"Awful"
Was given a room during 27c weather which staff KNEW was one of two rooms where air conditioning wasn't working. I booked the room as an emergency for my partner who had a migraine. A night sleeping in 25c heat made things worse. I have an audio recording of staff explicitly telling me the following morning they knew our room had a broken air conditoning unit. Waiting for a refund before I take my axe to social media.
