Cockermouth hotel

This was an ideally located stop between Scotland and Yorkshire for a recent family trip. Easily found and, despite being on a roundabout, was surprisingly quiet with no road noise to be heard from the rooms or the car park itself. We had a family room (2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant) and whilst it wasn’t the Ritz it more than did the job that it was for and really - what more can you expect for a budget option. The room was clean, good water pressure in the shower and the baby enjoyed being able to have a bath after a week of showers on our trip. Breakfast was nice enough and the staff were friendly. The food kept getting replaced and was always hot. When we went for breakfast, the member of staff asked if she could get a high chair for us and I noticed that she was cleaning it fresh before she brought it over which was a welcome surprise.

Premier inns have being going downhill for a few years now, always used to rely on them but not anymore after this experience!!

Location and the friendly nature of staff was good. Rooms were clean. The main issues we had was the wifi free was poor, had to upgrade. Shower was leaking so we had a wet room not uncommon sadly. Main gripe was no coffee machine for two days, no second coffee machine at site.

Disappointed with our recent stay at Premier Inn Cockermouth. On arrival, only two beds were set up instead of four, and there was just one bath towel for our group. When staff came to sort the beds, we were asked to leave the room and the standard still wasn’t great. We were also told the bar was closed for food and drinks only a few days before arrival, leaving no option to change dates. Breakfast was poorly managed too, with tables not set properly and food items frequently running out. Overall, not the level of service we expected .

The hotel is really clean, and great value. However, despite having a member of staff guiding us through the confusing self check in, they failed to tell to register the parking......so now have a £57 fine!!!!!!
