"A lovely time in Cockermouth;"
We stayed recently and were dismayed to find that as the hotel had been unable to receive payment through a booking agency, we had to pay again. The manager, and Carol - on duty - couldn't have been more sympathetic and considerate. We assumed we had been scammed. We are very grateful for their help. The hotel is lovely and we can only complement the team for their efforts. Thank you. 5 stars from us.

"Good location - needs some TLC"
Have stayed here many times over the years, due to location. The exterior of the building from the main road looks horrendous and if I didn’t know the interior was ok I’d defiantly not book, just based on that. Needs a good coat of paint and fence repairing.
Arrived at 2.56 and asked if it was ok to check. Bit of a lack of customer service from the young man, but pretty standard for this Premiere Inn. I have come across him before and there’s been no improvement.
Premiere Plus room pretty standard. Coffee machine and fridge are what makes it premiere plus really. Bath needs some attention as sealant is mouldy in areas am bathroom door also could do with some attention.
Good location for West Lakes and onward journeys North. Didn’t book dinner or breakfast due to bad service and food at previous visits.

"Disappointing"
Hotel is clean and comfortable and quiet, but they have sacrificed their best element , the staff, for AI dominated check in system. If you have to ask for help to check in then why not just leave the staff in reception? I am able to navigate these machines but many are not and Premier Inn will lose customers.
Restaurant was a disaster, booked the meal deal, went to the restaurant then told it was closed due to a health and safety issue, although some people were being served food. No alternative advised or explanation on refund of already paid monies.
Breakfast was bedlam clealry not enough staff, those there were there were brilliant but run off their feet. Regularly ran out of food as no one was there to watch the pass to see what was running out. Couldn't find anyone at check-out to register complaint, perhaps next time there will be a complaint machine that appears to go nowhere as the online complaint system does.

"Clean, everything in good condition, friendly staff"
We arrived late last night, and Travis at the front desk greeted us very nicely, he was very polite, friendly, gave us a room very quickly, everything in a professional manner.
