"Not Bad but in Need of a Refresh"
Check in good, but the staff member on her own (evening) our single bed had not been made, she pulled a face and said "ohhh really" (not oh sorry about that) but did come and sort it out for us.
The room was tatty and tired (in dire need of redecorating) and the body wash dispenser in the shower was broken but we had our own soap.
The room was very quiet and we slept well, bed was comfy.
The breakfast was freshly cooked and hot so that was very good.
To sum up, they state on their card "our hotel is a wee bit old" but that's no excuse for it being tatty. Head office, provide some funding for new carpets, redecoration etc!

"Needs a bit of attention!!"
I visited the premier inn Carlisle central north with my husband while visiting family.
First impression was this place looks very run down and in need of a bit of attention!!
We were allocated a room upstairs but we asked if there was one on the ground floor and that was no problem!
The room was quite spacious lovely bath to relax only thing is the extraction fan was quite loud and intrusive!
The bed is very comfortable and lovely firm pillows which gives a great nights sleep.
The one problem is the lack of drawer space and a plug socket beside the bed.
The pub/restaurant beside the hotel is very nice lovely food at a reasonable price.
The staff were all very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you which was lovely.

"Would not recommend this Premier Inn to anyone."
We've stayed in many Premier Inns because we know what to expect.
This one was so different. Very disappointing. Very shabby, felt unclean. Bathroom needed updating.
Very noisy from nearby road and doors slamming late at night. Not sure Lenny Henry would be very happy to advertise this one. Food also substandard.

Hotel description
Carlisle is the ideal base to explore the grandeur of the Lake District. And Premier Inn Hotel Carlisle Central North is a grand place to stay, putting you within easy reach of the national park as well as the business and leisure facilities of the historic city centre.
Whether you're strolling along Carlisle high street, or stomping along High Street Fell, there's plenty to distract you here. Some visitors come to buy livestock at the Harrison & Hetherington auction market, others to spend time on Hadrian's Wall. Every September there's the Tour of Britain cycle race too. Then it's time to unclip from the pedals and unwind back at the hotel with our extra-comfy beds and a delicious meal at the restaurant next to us.
