"Overpriced with dated rooms which could have been cleaner."
Overpriced Premier Inn. We stayed here because of its close location to relatives who live in Carlisle. The rooms are desperately in need of updating and look like they haven’t had a deep clean for a long time. The female receptionist was efficient but not particularly welcoming. The adjoining pub stopped serving food at 7pm due to ‘staff training’ on a very busy Sunday evening! I would have thought another less busy night would have been more appropriate e.g a Monday or a Tuesday.

"Very good"
From the moment we arrived, this hotel set a new standard for luxury and hospitality. The building itself is stunning, with elegant, modern interiors, spotless public areas, and a wonderful atmosphere that feels both grand and welcoming. Our room was breathtaking: spacious, beautifully designed, with incredible views, a massive comfortable bed, and amenities that made every moment feel special. Everything was impeccably clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged—no detail was overlooked.
What truly made this experience unforgettable, though, was the service, and specifically Tracey at the front desk. She greeted us with such a warm, genuine smile and made checking in smooth, fast, and incredibly pleasant. She took the time to explain all the hotel’s facilities, gave us fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and places to visit, and even helped arrange a last-minute reservation for us. Throughout our stay, whenever we passed through the lobby, Tracey remembered our names, asked how we were enjoying our time, and went above and beyond to help with anything we needed—whether it was extra amenities, directions, or just a friendly chat. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail are outstanding; she is a true credit to the team and made us feel like valued guests rather than just visitors.
Every other member of staff we encountered was equally wonderful—attentive, polite, and always eager to help. The breakfast spread was delicious with so much variety, housekeeping was thorough and discreet, and the concierge service was excellent.
If you’re looking for perfection in comfort, style, and service, this is the place to book. We left feeling completely relaxed and well cared for, largely thanks to Tracey and the amazing team. We will absolutely be returning and have already recommended it to friends and family. 10/10!

"Dissappointed"
Sorry, I put 2 stars because of the thinness of the rooms walls. The bed was comfortable, room smelt a little musty as its ventilation probably wasn't the best. But if the sound insulation was better, I wouldn't have had to find the grace to suffer people who don't seem to be able to live without the TV’s noise last thing at night (sort of understandable) but then again from early the next morning when some of us prefer quiet. Can’t people live with their own thoughts for even a little while?
Thanks for being in Carlisle though, nice stopping point in the way further north.

Hotel description
Carlisle is the ideal base to explore the grandeur of the Lake District. And Premier Inn Hotel Carlisle Central North is a grand place to stay, putting you within easy reach of the national park as well as the business and leisure facilities of the historic city centre.
Whether you're strolling along Carlisle high street, or stomping along High Street Fell, there's plenty to distract you here. Some visitors come to buy livestock at the Harrison & Hetherington auction market, others to spend time on Hadrian's Wall. Every September there's the Tour of Britain cycle race too. Then it's time to unclip from the pedals and unwind back at the hotel with our extra-comfy beds and a delicious meal at the restaurant next to us.
