Hartlepool Marina hotel

We choose to stay at Hartlepool Premier inn over Sunderland due to its location, with our visit being to look for sea glass at Seaham. The staff were friendly, we paid for a sea view, which was on the ground floor over looking the marina. I had seen that the hotel didn't have air conditioning, and could be quite warm, but wasn't prepared for how warm! With 2 adults and 2 kids, it was 26.5°C late evening, we ended up putting both windows on draft before going to bed. I couldn't sleep well due to how warm it was, opening one window and then the other when I woke later in the night. There was a fan in the room, so that shows how hot it gets, but it was too noisy to sleep with it on, even on the lowest setting. The room and hotel were clean and tidy, some areas in the bathroom were a little tired, namely the edging near the barn which was peeling, but nothing major. We had a walk past the marina onto the sea wall and pier which were close by, Our kids loved being close to the railway and level crossing. It's a shame you have to pay for parking when you're a guest, but £3 something isn't a massive amount. I would stay here again, I just need to remember about the heat.

Nice big hotel room. Bed was very comfortable. Very helpful staff working on reception and around the hotel. The only thing I would say is they need to provide more tea & coffee - there's only enough for one cup so you have to ask for more. The Old West Quay Brewers Fayre that is attached to the hotel is pretty good. There are plenty of bars & restaurants around the marina. I'd recommend this hotel.
