"The most comfortable bed after a chilly day"
My partner and I checked in around 8 PM after spending a chilly October afternoon wandering around the town, and that bed was an absolute lifesaver. Honestly, most of a good trip is just getting decent rest, and the mattress here was extremely perfect. It had that heavy, crisp duvet that just traps the heat immediately, and having two different pillow types meant I could stack the firmer one under the softer one without my neck aching by morning. The room was tucked away down the hall, so there was zero corridor noise, and we both slept straight through until my alarm went off at 7:30 AM without waking up once. Everything in the room was spotless when we unpacked our bags, and the location made driving in and parking super easy. We will definitly book another night here next time we are visiting County Durham.

The member of staff at reception, Melodie was very helpful & friendly whilst booking in as I had an issue trying to get booked in but she was extremely helpful and professional & got it sorted. The room was great too. Highly recommended, Thanks.

I've stayed in many Premier Inn hotels but I can honestly say that this is one of the most pleasant experiences I've had. The staff was very friendly and helpful with tips to see and do around Bishop Auckland. The room was clean and comfortable and everything I expect from a Premier Inn room. You can never go wrong with a Premier Inn.

"One of My Favourite Premier Inns to Stay At"

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels around the country due to work, and I can honestly say Premier Inn Bishop Auckland is one of my favourites to stay at.
The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I did have an issue during the first couple of nights as the HDMI port on my TV wasn’t working, but the staff dealt with it really well and moved me into another room, which I really appreciated.
When we first arrived, the restaurant was still operating as Brewers Fayre before transitioning over to Premier Inn’s own restaurant. The Brewers Fayre food was absolutely beautiful and the menu had a really good selection. The new menu is good too, although personally I preferred the old Brewers Fayre menu.
Overall, I’ve really enjoyed staying here. The staff have always been welcoming and polite, the food has been good, and any issues have been dealt with quickly. With the amount of travelling and hotel stays I do for work, this is definitely one of the places I’m always happy to come back to.
Would definitely recommend! 👍

Explore the sites around this small market town - from art exhibitions to live music, there's always something going on at the Bishop Auckland Town Hall, plus Auckland Castle is a must see for history-lovers. Alternatively, why not head over to Bishop Auckland Retail Park for a bit of shopping, or tour Locomotion, the National Railway Museum at Shildon. However you choose to spend your day, our Premier Inn restaurant is a great place to start your evening.
