Bishop Auckland hotel

Ground floor room. In need of an update. Room odour not great. Also had ants crawling on our beds when we woke up. Let them know on reception and the reply was ‘sorry about that’. The rooms needed a better clean. Dust and old sweets left on the floor. The pull out bed also had dirty under sheets on. Unfortunately we didn’t see this until the morning as it was darker when we arrived.

Not a very good stay..... I only leave reviews if it's very good or very bad. This Premier Inn does not care about it's paying guests. Hotel lift has been out of order for over 2 weeks and do not know when it will be fixed. No email to notify of situation before arrival. No response to email sent 2 days prior to arrival. ( Ideal opportunity to inform us that lift was out of order ) 6 flight of stairs to walk up to the top floor with walking difficulties. No more Premier Plus rooms available on lower floors other than a disability room with a Bathroom that stunk of stale urine, which made you feel sick straight away. Then told they could not give you a refund due to head office not working on a weekend. So it was either leave and try and find another Hotel and hopefully get refunded next week or travel back 2 .5 hours and still hope to get a refund next week. Decided to stay and slowly navigate the steps not ideal and should never have been put in that situation in the first place. Receptionist blamed Premier Inn and said they are only bothered about getting money off you. Now the Premier plus room.... The tiniest Premier Plus room ever and the Bathroom was smaller than a cruise ship. However the room was lovely and clean and had all the usual amenities associated with the plus package. We always stop in Plus room and they have never been so tiny. ( This now looks the norm for revamped Premier Inn Hotels I'm afraid, so be aware! ) Now the Breakfast.... We were looking forward to a nice cooked unlimited buffet breakfast after navigating down those lovely stairs. Not a chance . It was wait and order it. ( How is that unlimited ) Asked the Manager why it wasn't a buffet and was told we only do it on a weekend. Okay just thankful that we were not in a rush to be off somewhere. Freshly cooked to order, should be nice. Absolutely shocking! Uncooked mushrooms, uncooked tomato, greasy fatty bacon, soggy hash browns, cold beans and the worst scrambled eggs ever. The sausage was the only thing on the plate that was nice. At this point we had had enough and couldn't be bothered to complain to be told that they would cook another one. ( More wasted time ) I think the Chef must have felt like us and given up or that they had already left the business. I do hope with all the upcoming job losses. Premier Inn does not now decline very rapidly. We have never had a bad stay/experience with Premier Inn before this one and we use this Hotel chain at least 10 times a year. I will put this down as a one off bad experience. We will find out very soon at another Hotel. 🤞Mmmmmmm

A clean comfortable hotel spoiled by a very unfriendly receptionist on arrivel

It is located on the outskirts of town and there are some places to eat nearby but these are mainly chains restaurants on retail parks. The interior feels a little dated but the bed was comfy and the room (209) was quiet. Convenient place to stay to visit Kynren.

Room was clean, large. Had all comfortable amenities I needed for a brief stopover whilst visiting Krynen. Arrived alone, very late at night and a bit worried about my personal safety. Male manager kept welcome short and brief without making me feel uncomfortable.
