"Very caring and relaxing in spite of our difficulties."
We had a booking for 3 nights from a Thursday evening but when we arrived decided to add and extra evening to leave on the Monday. The receptionist, Kelly was very helpful and made this arrangement. Unfortunately my wife became unwell due to a reoccurring back and internal pain, and we needed to make different sleeping arrangements. The staff on room service were extremely caring and helpful and Kelly played her part in a very caring and friendly manner and always made any question a chance to help us going over and above with her help and concern for my wife. She always had a cheerfull greeting that took away any stress we might have had over our additional needs and enabled us to rest and recover and have an enjoyable stay and time at the wedding of our grandson, which was the reason for our stay.

"Hoping this is not a sign of things to come"
We got notification a week before our stay that there were building works going on this however was too late given the time of year to find anything else. The main car park is halved because of the builders, would of been good if they parked up the hill in the overflow car park. We had elderly relatives who were put on the first floor, there's no lift which is advised, no option for a ground floor room and no help with bags. We did not opt for breakfast thankfully as we had dinner there the first night and the service was awful. If the staff would of stopped flirting with each other and paid attention to their patrons it may have been better. When your waitress is writing your order up her arm instead of on a pad it's not a great sign. Had to ask for our drinks 3 times which were eventually compt but then had to ask for our bill 3 times too. Food was ok. Next day between our day and evening plans tried to get a drink at the bar and again service was lacking. I really hope once the works all done they go back to how it was as when we have stayed before - a few times now - it's been great but this trip was really disappointing.

"A few relaxing days at Carnon Downs"
We stayed for a few days so we could visit friends who live close by. Check-in was very quick, and we were pleased with our room (Premier Plus). One slight setback was the lack of any drawers to put our clothes in. There were enough hangers for a few days, but who hangs up their underwear? The bathroom was very nice - a lovely walk-in shower. We needed another towel - that was no problem. However, if the booking states two people are using the room, then we don't understand why towels weren't sufficient for two people. Bring a face flannel if you need one, too - Premier Inn don't supply those (we knew that already). You can hear some faint building work (hammering or drilling) going on in the mornings from about 8 am so be aware of that.
We managed to park close to Reception on most days - there are quite a lot of builders' vans in the car park, and it is pretty much full in the evening at the moment. There's a lot of building work going on right now, which we knew about before we went. I'm sure it will look nice once it's all finished. There's also a large garden with tables and chairs if you want to sit in the sun or enjoy a drink outside.
Wifi was a bit hit and miss - we did ask on the first night how to login as we couldn't get a connection. Turns out it was Premier Inn's fault, not ours. We got logged in after several attempts each day - we had Ultimate Wifi as we had a Premier Plus room. The room has plenty of sockets and USB sockets so you can charge your phone or devices.
We had water in our fridge, which was welcome as it was a long journey down from Essex and the weather was very hot. My husband struggled a bit with the coffee machine - maybe some instructions would help, as we don't have one at home so he was unsure what to do.
Our bed was really comfortable. Pillows were OK, I usually bring my own but forgot on this occasion. It was quite warm and I couldn't try another one as I couldn't get the large case of pillows open. I appreciated the AirCon, but we had to turn it off at night as my husband said it was too noisy for him!
We ate breakfast in the restaurant - good food, lots of choices, I recommend it. We had one evening meal which was average, and it took a while for our food to be served. Someone posted a review earlier complaining about the tables being very sticky. They are, but I think it may be due to the cleaning fluid they are using. They weren't dirty at all. The staff were friendly, maybe a bit rushed off their feet in the evening. Service was more relaxed in the mornings.
We enjoyed our stay overall and would definitely go again.

"A two night pleasurable stopover"
An excellent comfortable two night stay with the usual high standards, good food, very helpful staff and on site car parking. Premier Inn have always been a reliable place to stay..
