"What's not to like?"
The hotel is in the midst of extensive refurbishment but this did not impact us at all. The Premier Plus room was small but adequate and well furnished with extra facilities - iron and ironing board, coffee pod machine, pleasing toiletries and enhanced decor. It was clean and modern and very comfortable. We had an excellent night's sleep followed by a varied and delicious breakfast with attentive and friendly staff on hand. Yes it's a budget hotel but within that context I can see no reason to cavill or to complain. Well done in my opinion.

"Will not be back"
Rooms not cleaned unless requested
£15 taxi to the town centre
Standard room £590 four nights stay (room only)
Reception normally lacking receptionists
Requested a room clean 1/ waste bin emptied
2/ coffee cups replaced
3/ bedding not changed
4/floor not swept
5/ no internal telephone
6/quilt just thrown on the bed
I worked for Whitbread for many years as a public house manager the motto then was Service,Standards and Value. None of these I received . This is purely for the premier inn and not the beefeater attached. I definitely would NOT return

"Awful experience"
Young lady at the reception seems to be in rush, in about 20 seconds gave me what I assumed is the worst room ever, at least on my personal experience sleeping every week at the premier inn. Room n1 is for people with disabilities, when I went back asking why she said has been booked too late that is clearly an excuse. The bed is about 25 inches from the floor, everything looks really old. Bathroom just big but no water pressure for shower. Dinner was a mess too. Wrong starter so I asked to get just a mixed grill, the steak is just a peace of fat that even my dog can refuse. Such a shame, I always have a good time at the Premier Inn in UK but this is is a place to void

"I got bitten"
I stayed at Premier Inn Truro for two nights last week and got bitten by bedbugs. See pictures.
As I was checking out I discreetly showed the bites to one of the receptionists because I didn't want to make a fuss (more fool me!) who told her colleague that they had a 'situation', (interestingly neither of them looked surprised), took my details, and promised to investigate and call me to let me know the situation and 'in case anything was due to me'. It's a company booking so anything due would go to them and I told her that.
Some of my colleagues who were on the same floor and checked out later than me (they have a car and I'm on the train), recall seeing a room with the entrance secured and taped around with a large plastic sheet (fumigation perhaps?) The next day nobody called, so by late afternoon I rang and spoke to someone called 'Tracey' who was very defencive and refused to admit or take any responsibility for the bites.
Now, I have to say that I only wanted a 'yes, we've looked into it, dealt with the situation, thanks for bringing it to our attention' and perhaps some concern and understanding for what I was going through because as said, I had nothing to gain as a refund would go back to the company.
Instead I got attitude, which left a bad taste in my mouth, even the colleague who was with me at the time was shocked (I had the call on speakerphone).
I have since learned if you ever get bitten by bedbugs in a hotel you should search the bed and room for signs of the little buggers (eeoow!), take pictures, get the staff to make an incident report and demand a refund (hence the more fool me). After I got home I found one (dead I think) on a one of my tops after boil washing all my clothes. Should have taken a picture then, but I was so freaked out I flushed it down the toilet!
And before anyone says it could be mozzys or midges that flew in, I always sleep with the window closed because I hate creepy crawlies and I get a bad reaction from insect bites as you can see from the pictures. Plus the telltale signs of bedbugs bites were present.
Other than the bedbugs, the room was nice and a good standard.
And that, dear readers, is my experience of Premier Inn Truro and if I had a choice I wouldn't stay at a Premier Inn again, let alone the one in Truro!

"Exceptional Staff and a Highly Recommendable Stay"
This is a fantastic hotel. Located just a few miles outside the city of Truro, it offers a wonderfully quiet and peaceful atmosphere, especially in the evenings. The staff were brilliant throughout my stay—genuinely friendly, welcoming, and polite. Additionally, my room was spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and offered excellent value for money. I would highly recommend staying here.
