"Awful. A big mess, needs maintenance work and a new cleaning supervisor. Would strongly recommend to avoid."
Room was a disgrace. Broken fittings, dirty and not enough of anything. Check in was ok, had to wait for the receptionist but no real issue. However the condition of the room was awful and not what I expect from a premier inn at all. The towel rain was broken and only half of it was on the wall, the toilet flush was broken, there was a big hole in the wall to name a few of the maintenance issues. Cleanliness was more great. Bathroom bin and the soap dispenser were both filthy. So dirty it really gave me the ick about staying. If this was the dirt we could see what else was lurking? To be honest I had to stop looking or I would never have slept. We were given only tow towels and two cups dispite booking a room for three. Had to resolve this at reception which seemed an effort for the receptionist and our fault for having booked more than two people in.
"Uncomfortable by Design"
By design, Premier Inn newly refurbished Plus and Regular rooms have been made uncomfortable to stay in. The list of issues are too long to mention here, but the management of the company would be fully aware of them. We have stayed in various Premier Inn hotels around the South 3 or 4 times a year when visiting family for the past 20 years. This most recent 2 night visit was our last, regardless of price.
"Great hotel"
Great hotel, brilliant food, Tracey on reception is fantastic and nothing is too much to ask. Very helpful and welcoming staff
"Very caring and relaxing in spite of our difficulties."
We had a booking for 3 nights from a Thursday evening but when we arrived decided to add and extra evening to leave on the Monday. The receptionist, Kelly was very helpful and made this arrangement. Unfortunately my wife became unwell due to a reoccurring back and internal pain, and we needed to make different sleeping arrangements. The staff on room service were extremely caring and helpful and Kelly played her part in a very caring and friendly manner and always made any question a chance to help us going over and above with her help and concern for my wife. She always had a cheerfull greeting that took away any stress we might have had over our additional needs and enabled us to rest and recover and have an enjoyable stay and time at the wedding of our grandson, which was the reason for our stay.
"Hoping this is not a sign of things to come"
We got notification a week before our stay that there were building works going on this however was too late given the time of year to find anything else. The main car park is halved because of the builders, would of been good if they parked up the hill in the overflow car park. We had elderly relatives who were put on the first floor, there's no lift which is advised, no option for a ground floor room and no help with bags. We did not opt for breakfast thankfully as we had dinner there the first night and the service was awful. If the staff would of stopped flirting with each other and paid attention to their patrons it may have been better. When your waitress is writing your order up her arm instead of on a pad it's not a great sign. Had to ask for our drinks 3 times which were eventually compt but then had to ask for our bill 3 times too. Food was ok. Next day between our day and evening plans tried to get a drink at the bar and again service was lacking. I really hope once the works all done they go back to how it was as when we have stayed before - a few times now - it's been great but this trip was really disappointing.
