St. Austell hotel

Stayed 3 nights on my walk along king Charles Coast Path. The staff were excellent, the room was very clean and at £66 a night if was excellent value for the price. I had dinner at the adjoining restaurant which, happily is still kept open for guests .The staff again were great and the food was very acceptable. Overall an excellent 3 night stay.

Fantastic staff and service Heard they will be referbing the hotel Close to the A30. So not far from Eden project, 1.5 hours from Lands end

Please avoid this VERY DISHONEST, BAD FAITH hotel at all costs. Choose somewhere else to stay unless you really have absolutely no choice. We paid for a fully flex very expensive rate and arrived on a hot summer day to find that there was no air conditioning in the room. We tried putting up with it but realised we couldn't take it as there was no ventilation at all (the windows were tied and only opened to an at most 5 cm small gap) and had to leave within an hour. We spoke to the front desk lady to share our concerns, but the manager was conveniently at dinner and was not free to speak with us. We were assured that given the fully flex rate we booked, we should be able to get a refund but they could not do anything until their manager came back. As it was getting late, we couldn't wait for the manager to be done with her dinner had to make a move to continue our journey to the hotel we booked as a replacement. The front desk lady further assured us she would check in with her manager and update us, and gave us an email to contact. Much to our dismay, nobody contacted us and when we tried writing to the email - nobody responded. After some googling, it turned out that the email she gave us was wrong to begin with! When we finally got in touch with the hotel, the excuses started coming in that it was stated on the website that there was no air conditioning (to be clear, the website did not state there was no air-conditioning - it just didn't mention anything about air conditioning), and to contact another team for a refund. They gave up replying entirely after a few chasers which left us with no choice but to leave this review. The summary is that the hotel is not replying us anymore and it appears our money is gone (for a room which is far below expectations and which we did not stay at all). Just to highlight that we paid in full (big mistake!) via the card machine when checking in and so it would have been possible to reverse the transaction as with any business, but they chose not to and fobbed us off time and again. Please stay aware from this dishonest hotel for your own sake.

Visited St Austell premier inn, on arrival I asked for a ground floor room, within a few minutes the receptionists Jill and Lilly had sorted it for me, very helpful, made my stay more pleasurable not having to walk up any stairs

Due to Corporate greed the adjoining pub was closed which altered best laid plans during our stay. Avoid PI's and their corporate greed of changing pubs into more hotel rooms when not required! The ground floor rooms are really noisy from the rooms above, also.
