"Good choice for Penzance"
A quick comment to say that the Premier Inn Penzance is probably the best one I’ve stayed in. Rooms so quiet, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for the rail and bus stations. Staff were friendly.
"Does what it says on the tin"
Typical Premier Inn room (no bath but nice shower) in a beautiful converted mill. Perfect position for us right next to the train station. We ate breakfast and dinner on a couple of nights - the ‘meal deal’ is excellent value and the food was very nice. The staff were run off their feet - they work really hard and I felt quite sorry for them - taking orders, serving meals but also checking guests in to the hotel and delivering clean towels to our room in and amongst! The place was clearly understaffed! I can’t give 5* because I asked for some tap water with dinner (in addition to our wine & beer) and the young gentleman brought us 2 glasses of warm water! I asked for ice which helped a bit but we weren’t impressed - at other premier inns we have been given a jug of iced water and even had lemon in some! There’s no consistency in the restaurants.
"Slightly Pricey Stay"
This was my first ever stay with Premier Inn. The room I got wasn't bad, but it felt bare with few amenities, if any at all. For example, there were only two small teacups in the room, and not even a paper cup for toothbrushing in the bathroom. Secondly, the wifi was on the slow side and was slightly unstable. I couldn't use my VPN due to its speed. I paid more for this room than the Crowne Plaza Plymouth by IHG. For that reason alone, I expected slightly more or better.
"Dissapointing"
Poor over stretch staff trying to please and fulfill too many functions. Room tired and dirty marks on quilt cover. Fan not working in Bathroom and no toilet brush. Have to ask for tea bags to make one additional cup. Being chased for suspected non payment on meal after booking and paying for a meal deal .Parking non existent and additional £10 for parking making this a £200 experience. Not value for money.
"Friendly staff but the hotel needs improvements"
This hotel is great for a one night stopover, ideally located right next to Penzance Station and the Skybus airport transfer point. Staff are friendly and hard working but there don’t appear to be enough of them. Two young men were running the reception and acting as waiters at the restaurant at the same time. The restaurant itself is just a handful of tables, so does not accommodate all those wishing to eat at the same time. There were no menus on the tables and some customers weren’t given one for some time. Others were unhappy that they could not buy alcohol, the reason given being because there wasn’t a licensee on site. The bedroom felt a bit like a prison with just one small window which you are forbidden to open but it was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
