Penzance hotel

The worst PI I have ever stayed in. Rooms small, dark and not very clean. Beds well overdue for replacement. You could put your hand between the mattress and the side wire. Rooms aren't even serviced daily unless you request it and then all they do is empty the bin! Staff tried hard but there aren't enough of them. Constantly juggling checking people in and out serving meals in the restaurant and washing up when plates ran out at breakfast!

We’ve stayed in the Penzance Premier Inn many times as it’s convenient for our usual travel route. This is the first time I’ve left a review. We stayed in room 8 for the first time last night- it wasn’t the best room we’ve had there. When we arrived the room hadn’t been cleaned properly- crisps on the floor under the bed and sugar and sticky marks on the desk. I mentioned this to the lovely staff member Vicki. Vicki said the roomba robot had been in there but hadn’t been checked by a human because she hadn’t had time. Vicki appeared to be the only member of staff (and someone cooking). She was run off get feet serving customers but was absolutely lovely and gave us some chips and drinks as a gesture of goodwill, which was very welcome after a long day. The room is poorly soundproofed and we could hear footsteps above us and I’m assuming the fan from the bathroom above- it was really loud.

The room I had smelt dirty. I have stayed her many times before and never has any real issues. This time was completely different. The shower didn’t drain, I assume part of the reason for the smell. The sink plug hold filled with bubbles when I wasn’t using it so clearly a drainage issue somewhere. When moved after one night the next room hadn’t been cleaned properly either!! I felt embarrassed complaining again and they did come and clean it but it’s a sign standards here aren’t as they should be The curtains in the first room had missing hooks so were falling down. That’s a basic maintenance issue. A really disappointing stay. The hotel isn’t cheap and i expect better

We have stayed here on many occasions, it is convenient for train station shuttle to lands end. Room was clean, water was hot, bed was comfortable. Staff are as always very nice BUT also as always never enough of them. The dinner server was having to check in a steady stream of customers, which meant a chef had to come out and deliver food and take orders not ideal although we found it entertaining watching bemused diners. Food was hot and good. Got our own desserts off the pass as by that point poor receptionist, waiter was on washing up!! No one to blame except Premier Inn management. Room was cold and heating very inefficient The lack of help must be very frustrating for the staff who work here
