"Clean, hygienic and friendly service"
The service was good for both in hotel and in the breakfast Liskeard tavern. Our room was clean. Air conditioning good and staff serving breakfast was very experienced, friendly. We were amazed how Becks served us whole 3 days. She is very passionate about her job and take cares of all guests coming in.
"What has happened to Premier Inn"
What has happened to Premier Inn. We arrived and were told that the lift wasn’t working. When we left seven days later, the lift was still not working. Guests who had stayed the previous week advised that it had been out of order for several days before we arrived. The general appearance of the hotel was shabby and in need of refurbishment. The carpet had come away from its fixing on the stairs and a leaf that was on the stairs that we noticed on the first day was still there when we left. Worst of all, we booked breakfast in advance. We are great fans of the Premier Inn breakfast and often go to our local branch on a Sunday morning. First we were advised that the cooked breakfast was no longer self service and we had to order what we wanted item by item. On the first morning they ran out of mushrooms and the fruit compote. On the third morning they ran out of hash browns. The fifth morning they topped this by running out of bread! There is a Morrisons less than five minutes drive from the hotel but we were advised by staff that they couldn’t go to get bread there because of “allergy issues”. So much for an ‘eat as much as you want’ breakfast. The staff made the most of this awful experience and Becky, Tiah, Kristelle, Jamie and Shawn have to be recognised for going out of their way to make the most of this chaos. When we (and most of the other guests) complained, we were advised that they had been particularly busy - during the last week of July, when the schools have just started their summer holidays - what a surprise! Sadly, we will definitely think twice about using Premier Inn in the future.
"Liskeard Premier Inn"
Good localization Hotel with services and shops around in case if needed during the trip. OK parking but only with 2 station for electric cars chargers so this will cause issues soon or a later between customers as over first night I wasn't able to charge my car there - being already occupied. No reception whatsoever of network if you are in rooms based ground floor, Premier Inn Wi-Fi promised not a chance to establish and very problematic so to have any connection with the world we had to go outside! Ridiculous. Overall hygiene standard OK, but bathroom was the worst with clearly visible mould around the bath and flaking silicone. Overall old style hotel and same old style equipment with poor house keeping, staff either friendly / non friendly - just being there. Personally not recommending, stay away.
"Excellent Staff"
We'd read all the negatives about the restaurant and lift so were prepared. On arrival checked in and went up to our premier plus room, it was on the A38 side so I went back down and asked for the other side. Young woman on the desk switched us over no problem. Went back up and into new room, only one towel, went back down for that and noticed my arm was bleeding (am on blood thinners so cuts don't coagulate very well), some blood leaked onto reception counter and I asked the young lady if she had something to wipe it up. She took me round the back, insisting on fixing up the cut. Used swab to wipe it off and put a plaster on, offered me more for later. I thought this was very kind of her but missed her name and never seen her again. Standard premier plus room, unusually had cleaners name and a QR code in the room, never seen that before. Lift not working (for nearly a year as far as I could tell) was no problem, stairs are compact. We never went in the bar/restaurant, operating on a limited menu but there were a few people who did. There is a Morrisons Cafe a 5 minute walk away, lovely breakfast including fried bread (a rare treat nowadays).
"Exceptional Service from Becks – Made Our Family Meal a Joy!"
We recently dined at the Liard Premier Inn with our family (two adults and six children), and we were incredibly lucky to have Becks as our server. From start to finish, she was absolutely fantastic. Becks was incredibly patient and friendly with our children, taking time to chat with them and making sure they all felt included. Managing a table with that many kids isn’t easy, but she handled it with a smile, kept everything organized, and made it look effortless. She was attentive without being intrusive, quick to respond to any requests, and genuinely seemed to enjoy her work. It’s rare to come across such warm and professional service, especially when dining with a large family group. Becks truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. She’s a credit to the Premier Inn team, and we’ll definitely be returning thanks to her outstanding hospitality. Thank you, Becks, for making our visit so enjoyable!
