"Lovely hotel but not a great experience"
The location was great. The hotel itself was lovely, as were most of the staff we spoke with on reception. Rooms were clean and recently refurbished. Sadly, we visited during a heatwave and rooms were unbearably hot. The windows only open about an inch, and we were told off by staff for leaving the room door open (while we were in the room during the day) to let a little air flow through. The thermostat in the room said it was 28°C all night, and as a family travelling with infants, the awful small fan provided in each room didn't help at all. On our first morning, the water was off, so as you can imagine after a hot night all we wanted was a shower, which was not possible. Due to the water issue, breakfast was also cancelled, so we were left without breakfast and water - which isn't great with grumpy, hungry and hot children. We were then overcharged for the missing breakfast on checkout, so had to spend 2 hours speaking to call centre staff who could not understand the problem. The cooked breakfast at The Swan was nice, however, the continental options were poor. No selection of fruit, no pastries, and no yoghurt. The morning our breakfast was cancelled, we went to another Premier Inn (Warrington A49/M62,J9) instead, and the breakfast selection was far superior.

"A Third Time Returning Guest Writes ..."
An extremely friendly and comfortable two night stay. This was my fourth visit and as usual, it was very satisfying. The en suite rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and peacefully well appointed. For hot days, even those without the benefit of air conditioning are kept cool by the thoughtful staff, who keep the curtains closed and at the shadier end of the building, the windows open. Electric cooling fans await you in your room. For lower temperatures, a thermostat heating control is provided.
Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Michelle and the other extremely helpful staff. Should you request an iron and board for some last minute pressing, an alarm call or assistance with your room or booking a taxi - it's all most willingly provided.
Catering is served by equally friendly and cheerful staff at the adjoining and front facing "Swan" pub and restaurant. This is equally as welcoming and comfortable. The food is fine with some nice choices.
I eagerly look forward to a return visit next year.
Thank you.
