"Avoid!!!"
I stayed at Premier Inn Central North instead of our usual stay at MediaCity Premier Inn because it was closer to family in Manchester and seemed like a cheaper option. Unfortunately, we quickly realised we should have stayed at our usual hotel.
Our experience at Central North was honestly abysmal from the moment we arrived. We had travelled for over four and a half hours and arrived at 1:30pm, believing check-in was at 2pm. We were told very bluntly that check-in was not until 3pm and that there would be no flexibility at all, despite the car park being nearly empty with only around five cars there. I understand policies exist, but after such a long journey, a little understanding would have gone a long way.
Even more disappointing was the lack of friendliness from reception staff. We had to press the reception bell six times before anyone appeared, and only after going toward the side kitchen and calling out for assistance. No one seemed welcoming or particularly interested in helping.
When we finally checked in at 3pm, things got worse. My daughter was given a key to a room that was already occupied by someone else. After several failed attempts to get into the room, I returned to reception thinking the key simply wasn’t working, only to be told the room was already occupied. The receptionist then had to search through names, addresses, and booking details before issuing another key, with absolutely no apology for the mistake—which is quite a serious one.
The room itself was also disappointing. The sink plug in my bathroom would not open properly, and overall the hotel felt poorly maintained. Staff throughout the stay were generally unfriendly and unhelpful.
There is also no proper bar area—just a small restaurant-style breakfast area. The pub next door is your only real option for drinks, but I would say visit at your own risk… and definitely bring hand sanitiser for the sticky glasses.
Honestly, I would strongly recommend paying a little extra and staying at a more reputable Premier Inn. We usually stay at MediaCity Premier Inn and the difference is huge—friendly, professional, and accommodating staff every time. Sadly, this stay at Central North was a very poor experience and one we won’t be repeating.

"Motorway stop was reliably much as expected"
Enjoyed our breakfast from hard-working chef Kerry and our wonderful server Laura for who went out of her way to make us comfortable. Two rooms, plug socket by the bed, all good.

"A really comfortable stay"
I booked an overnight stay here for the first time and I would definitely go back.
The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless and so comfortable. I had upgraded my room so I can't speak for the other types but I loved my room. I just wish I could have stayed longer.
The walk in shower cubicle and the powerful rainfall shower were just fabulous.
The hotel is situated on a busy main road but I wasn't disturbed by the noise at all. There's a retail park across the road for those who like to shop.
There is no restaurant or bar so unless you want to go to the nearby Toby Grill, I'd take some supplies. I had a fridge to chill my drinks :)

"Beware the DECATHLON shed"
If you are put in a room on the side of the building facing the DECATHLON shed, asked to be moved as it ruins an otherwise peaceful hotel. Every morning at about 5 a.m. the DECATHLON shed starts making an almighty and incessant rumble which will wake you up. Earplugs are ineffective since the sound is a low frequency vibration/hum. The hotel is as you would expect from a Premier Inn with nice touches to the spacious room but unfortunately spoilt by the DECATHLON experience.

"Very good stay"
The hotel was clean and gave a friendly atmosphere as soon as I walked in. Room was large and bathroom was a decent size. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
