Macclesfield South West hotel

Had an email stating hotel was being renovated, no sign of this just a closed pub next door. Also we sent an email stating restaurant was closed but we would be given free coffee and pastries for breakfast, receptionist said they had no facilities to do this, when I spoke to customer relations they blamed the manager. Manager did call me the following day and gave me one night’s money back, trying to get the other night back as well, after all we didn’t stay

Very run down with just a 4'6'' bed. Everything needs refurbishment. No catering as the pub attached to the accommodation is closed and up for sale.

Stayed here because it was in a great location for a wedding we were attending at Capesthorne Hall. Although the on-site restaurant was closed during our stay, The Flower Pot pub nearby was excellent and only around a 15-minute walk away, with a really nice pub garden. The staff throughout our stay were very friendly, welcoming and helpful, which definitely made a positive difference. The hotel itself and the rooms are quite dated and there’s no air conditioning, although it did the job for a short stay. Unfortunately the fan in our room wasn’t working, and because temperatures were over 20°C during our visit, it became quite warm. Opening the windows wasn’t ideal either as the outside area was covered in heavy pollen — obviously not the hotel’s fault, but something that affected our comfort during the stay. The hallways also had a constant smell of stale cigarettes/marijuana, which I suspect is more down to the age of the building and carpets than anything else. Overall, a convenient location with genuinely lovely staff, but the hotel could definitely benefit from some updating and maintenance improvements.

Booked a quad room on March 29th for May 15th. Turned up and was informed my room had been given out to someone else and they only had a basic room to put me in. The room I booked and paid for also included breakfast. However the breakfast was also closed/ not available. I expect Premier Inn to refund me in full at the very least.
