    "Great staff!"
We stopped off here for a couple of nights to break up our journey home from South Wales. It was fine overall like many other premier inns but just wanted to give a shout out to the staff on duty at breakfast. Like others have said, with the pub next door being closed they had to use a small room for breakfast so it was essential to book a time. I'm hoping I got their names right but Wendy was absolutely amazing at breakfast, she never stopped! She made sure everyone was seated and although it was busy there was never a queue, she was constantly replenishing the buffet, clearing tables etc and did it all with a smile - it must be a hard job trying to keep everyone happy at breakfast being such a small space. Lydia was helping out too and equally did a great job. So thank you to you both! Just make sure you book a breakfast slot!!
    "No food options"
Disappointed there was no food option, you can book food and save money at the beginning of your check-in online, but we didn't think we would need food and would decide nearer the time and pay the extra if we needed to, however when we got there we were told that is no full option unless you pre-booked because you did not pre-booked there is no evening mail and there's no breakfast, very disappointing as when we went past the restaurant at both mail times it was just about empty
    "Family stopover"
Stop off on a longer trip. Easy to find. Great welcome Very fresh breakfast and plenty off it. The staff were very friendly staff
"A short stay to break up a long journey home."
We have stayed in this hotel on several previous occasions. This time it was lacking a little bit of its sparkle. The place had a run down feel to it. We stayed for 2 nights. The 2 bedrooms both had a musty smell to them. The rooms were extremely warm and to counteract this each room was provided with a fan. We were told that it's getting aircon installed in 2026. Since our last visit the restaurant across the road has closed and breakfast is made in a small kitchen and served in the small adjoining dining room. The food was good, the dining room was full to capacity, people were queuing in the corridor and there was not enough staff working. Another member of staff employed for clearing tables, replenishing supplies would have made it so much better. All staff were friendly and working very hard! The hotel is in a good location for hopping on the number 5 bus into Chester. The bus service connects to the railway.

First impression was it's run down, the entrance to reception was full of fag butt's,the smoking bin on the wall was crammed had to tell receptionist about it, booking in was okay, the room was musty even though we had the window open and the fan going all the time we was there it didn't make any difference. Went to the in-house restaurant called the Social to realise we didn't eat anything on the menu, mainly pizza, pasta or curry dishes, reported to reception to be told it was a reduced menu and she would refund our meal deal, we found out later that the menu is what it is. Went to breakfast in morning to be greeted with a packed restaurant, not enough seating for amount of guests only to find out they had run out of butter portions and only had sunflower spread which I cannot eat as it goes through me like a dose of salts, the breakfast itself was lack luster, sausages wasn't fully cooked , bacon was overdone and tough as old boots, mushrooms had been boiled to within an inch of there life, wife asked for pan au chocolate cossaint, lady put out 4 a guy took 3 so my wife got 1 and it had been cremated, needless to say we cancelled all meals here. Parking is a nightmare especially if like us you are disabled as they have limited spaces for you and soon as you move your car some one else parks there,we did this when we went out for the day only to find no spaces in car park at all, had to use the abandoned restaurant next door car park . Overall this is the worst premier inn we have ever stayed in and we would not recommend it to anyone. Full refund returned.
