"Still a Nice Stay, Though Comfort Affected by Heatwave"
My wife and I have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. However, during our recent two-night stay, the heatwave proved too much for us. Our room remained at around 32°C, which made sleeping extremely difficult. Although there was a fan provided, it simply circulated the warm air and didn’t offer much relief. On returning from a day out for our second night, we found that the television in our room had stopped working. We reported this to reception and were promptly moved to another room, which we greatly appreciated. The lady we spoke to was very apologetic and courteous, which we found reassuring. The new room was located downstairs and, although still warm at 26°C, it was a noticeable improvement and made for a more comfortable night’s sleep. We do understand that the unusually hot weather had an impact on our experience, but given the price of the stay, we feel it’s time Premier Inn considered investing in air conditioning for guest comfort. A small additional point — and not to be overly critical — there were noticeable patches of mould around the shower area. Since the shift to cleaning on request, it seems the previously high standards may have slipped slightly. That said, the restaurant was excellent. We dined there on two occasions and both meals were enjoyable. The staff were polite, attentive, and efficient. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, despite the issues mentioned above. We hope to see some improvements in the future, as we’ve always enjoyed our visits in the past.
      "Decent stay"
Decent clean rooms, could have done with air-conditioning. Decent food next door in the Beefeater and nice helpful staff there. No lift, which was a problem for my mum who has mobility issues. I had also e mailed a few times to get us rooms next to each other , we we're stjll a few doors away
      "Disappointing for the price"
Pretty standard Premier Inn but have stayed in better Premier Inns. My mistake not checking if the hotel had air conditioning or not (it doesn’t!). Very hot room but there was a fan already in the room but it was still very warm. Breakfast was just about ok. I was looking forward to it but it was below our previous experiences & expectations. The breakfast is not self service. Our food came almost too quickly and didn’t appear to be freshly cooked poached eggs. Our family’s order for 8 people didn’t arrive in 45mins so when queried the order, the ticket hadn’t been submitted by the staff. We agreed with the duty manager for a full refund for the breakfast and when breakfast finally came we were offered a 50% discount from another staff member? I would say the restaurant needs more staff and better communication. Unsure if we would stay again and as per a previous review I would consider having breakfast in the garden centre next door instead. Have stayed in better and worse Premier Inns. For £149 a night I expected much better. 6/10
      "Too hot"
We were booked for the Saturday in the heatwave. The room met our expectations but the room was too hot to sleep in. We knew there was no air conditioning at the Hotel but with most Premier Inns the windows do not open enough to allow cooler air into the room. It was cooler outside than in the room but no air was coming in and the fan only moved the warm air around. It was too hot to get any sleep so we packed up and left at midnight for the 2 and a half hours drive home where we could cool down and get a little sleep before morning. Premier Inn need to do something about this as with global warming, excessive heat is becoming more frequent.
      "Good value, convenient stay"
Spacious room with a pleasant view over the golf course. Shower room and toiletries good too. Good car parking. Located next to a nice garden centre and close to Nene Valley Park. We were en route to see friends so not too bothered about being close to Peterborough. Only minor criticism was the heavy duvet and lack of ability to cool the room much. Beefeater restaurant next door was good value with the meal deal.
