Cambridge East (Newmarket Road) hotel

I have stayed at the Premier Inn Cambridge East (Newmarket Road) previously when travelling on business and have always found it a convenient and comfortable place to stay. On this occasion, however, I particularly wanted to recognise the excellent customer service I received. After travelling for nearly five hours on a Bank Holiday Monday, I arrived at the hotel at around 9:15pm, somewhat tired, ahead of an early site meeting the following morning. Both members of staff on duty were welcoming and helpful when assisting me with check-in. However, a special mention has to go to Raheem, who was working behind the bar when I came back downstairs for a drink after dropping off my cases. Raheem’s positive, customer-centric attitude was genuinely refreshing. He was polite, knowledgeable and engaging, and took the time to have a great conversation rather than simply going through the motions of serving a customer. Having worked in customer-facing environments myself, I appreciate that genuine engagement can sometimes be difficult — whether from the customer’s side or the member of staff’s. Raheem got the balance absolutely right. After a long journey, that simple interaction and the time he took to engage made a real difference to the end of my day. Excellent customer service is often about the small things, and people like Raheem are a credit to the hospitality industry and to the hotel they represent. A big shout-out to Raheem. I sincerely hope the hotel’s Operations Management team sees this review and gives him the recognition he deserves. Keep doing what you’re doing!

My review is the front of house mr. Raheem is one of the best person i have meet in cambridge.... he is very friendly and helpful person all the way. He has been motivating me for lots of issues here in cambridge... for me he is the best at premier hotel

Stayed for one night while on a road trip of the South. The car park is VERY small and there were no spaces available when we arrived which was quite stressful. I went to check in with the cases while my husband tried to find a nearby car park, while checking in I was advised that we could park here close to a wall AND that parking was free for now because the payment system was down. This was a relief but I think the whole situation needs investigating and resolving. We stayed in 105 which was spacious and comfortable. Bar prices were good (less than £10 for a large Pinot Grigio & Diet Coke) and the breakfast was warm and tasty. What made the trip was the staff! The man on reception when we checked in, the two people on the bar that evening, and the staff working the breakfast shift on the Sunday morning were all so kind, polite and helpful. Zach gets a special mention because he was so positive and friendly! Cambridge East, your workers are a total credit to you and deserve some recognition. Thank you to them all for making sure we have a great night away.

Great location and value for money compared to other options. Looked after by Raheem in the bar. Very attentive.

Located on the outskirts of the city the hotel is just a five minute bus ride to the city centre. The staff were outstanding in every way. From Kim on Reception, to Kajol and Raheem in the restaurant, everyone was so helpful, friendly and efficient. I would not hesitate to book another stay here if I was in the area again.
