Cambridge East (Newmarket Road) hotel

Poor cleanliness; bath plug was full of hair on check in. Bad check in experience, room wasn’t available 90mins after the scheduled check in (causing us delays) because the cleaning wasn’t finished; ironic given that they didn’t actually clean the room properly. Staff were mostly unhelpful and disinterested. Room was what you’d expect from a premier inn (but not that clean).

I have visited many Premier inns ranging from the poor to the very good. I found this one to be very good. The room was clean and spacious and included an armchair with stool. A coffee maker was also provided along with the usual kettle in order to make hot drinks. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is not located in the centre of Cambridge we were easily able to walk to the centre within 20 minutes.

Great location just a short walk to the station, and near a retail park. I stayed for one night and found it overall a great stay. Bed is super comfortable, nice lighting and air-con, etc. Curb for taxi pick-up just outside the hotel, and lots of shops just around the corner.

There was no hot water for days and the issue was not fixed during my stay. I had asked about the issue being fixed several times and I was offered a different room, but the issue affected the whole property. From my understanding all of the guests were called to the reception area in the morning and offered to be moved to a sister property. I never received that call and was only informed about this option late in the afternoon, meaning I could no longer be relocated. I was then promised a refund for 2 nights affected and haven't received it at all. Their customer service failed to call me back or respond to my emails. Very disappointing experience.

Quite a walk to Cambridge city centre but near a bus stop. Good value rooms however hotel is very hot! We set the temperature controller to 17 (the lowest it would go) but room remained very hot. Room clean but poorly maintained (broken door stop, seat fabric split, very stained carpet, mouldy/limescale on shower seals) We stayed in a plus room good selection of tea and yummy chocolate.
