Milton Keynes (Willen Lake) hotel

Good points were closeness to travel routes in and out of Milton Keynes. Parking very ample, paid on app from QR code in reception on arrival. Location decent, next to family orientated leisure lake. Room was Premier plus, well worth the bit extra, clean, spacious, coffee pod machine, water and nice smelling toiletries. Bed great and spare pillows in pre sealed container. Big let down was breakfast experience. Thank goodness we weren’t persuaded to have switched to the promoted meal deal in adjacent Brewers Fayre. Attached Premmies no longer allow public guests so have provision for hotel patrons only. Disastrous breakfast. Everything was limited, running out and very slow to be replenished. Staff did their best to be helpful in unworkable circumstances. Coffee machines were out of service as no milk left. I just had a glass of water. Fruit was just 2 speckly bananas which everyone avoided. Like many travellers I look forward to a reliable, appetising Premmie breakfast. Sadly no more after this. Requested scrambled egg took about half an hour for the solo cook to present it. It oozed so much liquid I mopped it up with a serviette and unsurprisingly found it inedible. The catering contract change is short sighted and will likely benefit Holiday Inn.

Terrible breakfast! No food when we got there, took ages to eventually came out and coffee machine was apparently ‘broken’ even though had been working night before. Only 1 staff member working. I tried to complain at checkout but the lady was busy talking to other colleagues and said to just leave my card, I said I wanted to complain and she rolled her eyes and said she’d talk to her manager at some point…

food very poor took 2 hour to get full breakfast, both days we stayed had to keep going back as so many items slow to appear had to grab items as soon as they came out, so eat bacon, then grab sausage ECT. evening meal 1 1/2 hrs from order to table.

I wanted to leave some absolutely deserved feedback for an incredible member of your staff at Premier Inn willen lake, We turned up quite last minute with easily 30 of us a big group of families meeting up ahead of emigrating to Australia, having gathered at Willen Lake for our farewell. Although the kitchen unfortunately made quite a few mistakes with our food order, this lady — I’m not sure if she’s the manager, but she was absolutely running the show was simply amazing. She stayed calm, did everything possible to sort every issue, checked on us repeatedly, and made sure everything ended up okay. Then, the very next morning for breakfast despite having clearly worked late the night before she was back, and this time running the whole operation single-handedly! She was still friendly, attentive, helpful and so welcoming to all of us. We just wanted to send a huge, heartfelt thank you. It meant so much to have such kindness and care during our special farewell gathering before heading off to start a new life. She is a total credit to Premier Inn please pass on our deepest gratitude and let her know how much we appreciated her! We stayed 19th sept

The room was very expensive for the upgraded room (£209 for the night,) which on the website shows baths available but there isn’t any at this hotel, meaning they just use generic photos on all hotels. Also the upgraded room was supposed to have the really good wifi, which worked so poorly that I couldn’t even get Disney plus to load when I tried to use it, so I just used my phone as a hotspot and streamed it on the iPad from there instead as it was the only way I would get internet usage there. The room had a chair that was dirty in there too and when we spoke to reception about it they showed us a room that we could move into instead, which was much smaller and the chair in there was also dirty, there was no talk of any type of money back if we had accepted moving to a smaller room either, so we just stayed in the larger room and resolved to not using the chair for anything. Breakfast was a joke, most of the time things were empty, when I asked if there was any more Nutella the person didn’t know what I was talking about and had to ask a manager, who then said they didn’t have anymore at all, there was a lack of options altogether. It’s a shame because when we stayed a few years ago we enjoyed our stay, things have taken a turn for the worse.
