Milton Keynes South West (Furzton Lake) hotel

It was awful, normally we are more than happy with our experience with premier inn , however on this occasion it was really awful , first the water pressure was so low the water just trickled out of the taps , but what was really bad was the bed it was so uncomfortable and we hardly slept on closer inspection we noticed that someone had turned the mattress over so that the topper was on the base of the bed , in the morning after very little sleep my husband went to complain and a chap called Leonard came and had a look , he was very apologetic but an apology was just not good enough . Premier inn is always our first choice due to the comfy beds as i suffer with spinal stenosis , we have also purchased Premier inn beds for both my son and ourselves in our home . On arrival at 9pm-ish, we were not told we were in a disabled room by the two ladies on reception, so the first impression when we opened the door was… why... certainly did not resemble their room photo when we booked on line. Hubby is 6'2", he had to bend down for the sink, and the low bed. Even the ceilings were low, in fact the room was like a dark cave, dull, brown, not 'Premier' in any way. The sink looked like it was coming off the wall, cracks all around – a hygiene problem – you can’t properly clean those areas. There were no towel rails or hooks, just the shower curtain rail above the bath. I went to sit on the ‘comfy’ chair in the corner, glad I checked first as there was a thick layer of dust along the back/in the corners, which alluded to a cleaning system that doesn't do a proper clean. It was hot in the room – 24 degrees, I went to turn the big fan on, but before doing so, I checked the fan blades (having just seen the dusty chair), they were layered in dust, disgusting. Had I turned it on, all that dust (dead skin) would have been everywhere in the room. There was a second smaller fan on the table, which we had to have on all night to make the room bearable, and why oh why was there a big thick winter duvet on the bed, it is not winter yet, I had to sleep on top of the duvet. There were make up stains on the duvet cover. There is no fridge. No complimentary water, yet we paid £202 for two nights (Friday and Saturday). We were both too tired when we arrived to then go and ask for a regular room, our visit to MK was to help a sick relative, not a pleasant trip and the room made it all that much worse. Final ik, the windown, mucky dirty, wonder when it was last cleaned…. So, to call this a ‘Premier’ Inn is mighty ambitious, and misleading. Can’t recommend it, first and last visit.

Had a very pleasant stay here, staff very good throughout our stay, only dropped a star due to the room being a little tired mainly bathroom/toilet which would benefit from a lick of paint but this did not affect our stay.

Staff were very helpful in every way the could. The disabled parking could have better lines and breakfast could be better eg. Cooked longer

On arrival we noticed the sunning area of the hotel with the big lake just a stones throw away. The car parking has great availability right next to the hotel. The ladies on reception were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel seemed very clean and up to date. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of selection. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathroom was very clean and up to date. Next door there is a hungry horse if you fancy a few drinks or an evening meal which has an area for kids to play. Overall great experience and very nice hotel
