We stayed here for one night while I was taking part in the Superhuman Games in Bristol. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. Check in set the tone. The member of staff on reception was extremely curt and gave the impression that we were an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. The front of house team we encountered throughout our stay were similarly disengaged, with very little warmth or hospitality. The hotel itself also felt neglected. The entrance door to the restaurant had been smashed and remained in that condition throughout our stay. The areas in and around the hotel were untidy, with litter visible in several places, giving the impression that basic housekeeping and maintenance had slipped. Breakfast on Sunday morning was particularly poor. A notice advised guests that service would be delayed until around 7.15 to 7.30am, resulting in a queue forming outside the restaurant. When the doors eventually opened there was no apology, no acknowledgement of the waiting guests and not even a simple "good morning". The breakfast itself was equally disappointing. Much of the hot food was lukewarm, bland and generally unappetising. Our stay cost £264.96 for a single night. At that price, we expected friendly service, a well maintained hotel and a breakfast that matched the cost. Unfortunately, it represented poor value for money. We've stayed in a number of Premier Inns over the years and have generally found them to be reliable. Sadly, this was by far our poorest experience and, based on this stay, we would not choose to return to this particular hotel.

Welcoming staff. Good location with plenty of free parking and within easy reach of Bristol city centre. Quieter than the city centre with a Brewers Fayre restaurant next door.

The corridor on the ground floor is stale smelling and badly needs to be ventilated. The room was basic and very warm. No airconditioning. A fan was provided but this was just circulating hot air. Premier Inns are usually quite good but this one lets the side down big time. It is tired and badly in need of a revamp. The area where we ate breakfast is a health hazzard - filthy (and I mean filthy) carpets, torn upholstery and the glass on the front entrance door had received a severe kick from someone and was smashed in. The food at dinner time was dreadful. The breakfast was surprisingly good. The hotel is really a 2 star with 4 star booking cost. I wouldn't stay there again.
