Winnersh hotel

We are regulars at this hotel due to family in the area. The hotel is good, always find the rooms clean, reception staff are very helpful. This is our first visit since they closed Bar & block, and I will say it feels like it's lost the best part of the hotel for us. The staff now are still pleasant and helpful but it just feels like it's missing something. We only used the restaurant for breakfast this time. They were very good with us as we have allergies and gave the folder for us to check and we had the option to just help ourselves or have it made fresh and separately, they brought it out with the allergy stick, gloves on and fresh cutlery. Certainly put our minds at ease our food was safe. Still a lovely stay, just very different from our previous stays.

Booked this hotel as it seemed to have good reviews. First impressions were that it looked modern and fresh. We went to the restaurant around 7pm (this was a Saturday) and told it was an hour’s wait for food. The restaurant was completely empty. There wasn’t much in the area except fast food so it was disappointing as the menu looked good. We’d been given a room next to the lifts and door so it was noisy. I also didn’t get any sleep as the air con was so loud (this was on the off setting). When a room next door or upstairs uses the water, you hear it in the pipes, again keeping us awake. The windows in the room don’t open at all. Couldn’t wait to leave if I’m honest.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is badly let down by the restaurant. Poor service, limited availability of menu items, long wait times and poorly cooked food. Overall the restaurant is shocking.

A relatively new Premier Inn in a good location not far from the M4 and Reading town centre, with rail and bus links nearby as well. The front of the hotel has an ample car park, which is reasonably well kept. Check in was quite swift, and access to rooms is easy, but the room numbering sequence could be a little more logical. The room itself was clean, and everything was working, with the usual comfortable bed expected of Premier Inn. I've stayed in this one on three previous occasions and would happily visit again.

Room clean and comfortable, but no soap in dispensers fixed to wall. Car park free and adequate. Signs from road hard to find entrance. Service in bar a bit slow and when my Aunty asked if they did a sweet Rose he had no idea. So I was able to look at menu and say yes you do.
