Reading South (Grazeley Green) hotel

Friendly staff, but noisy front from bins and staff talking and smoking. Terrible breakfast - I might stay here again as it is convenient, but would not have brekfast here again.

Great location, within easy reach of Reading, but far enough away for quiet peaceful stay of 2 nights. Service was excellent, accommodation excellent, and the food next door in The Old Bell, was very good, as was the service. Highly recommended

I met my friend who lives close to the hotel. I wanted to stay in a hotel to get some peace and quiet for the night, I needed a relaxing night's sleep. Unfortunately the sound proofing in the rooms are not good. I could hear a couple quite loudly in the room next to me. I was moved upstairs, but as I was about to sleep I heard another couple come into their room, again I could hear them, and it was hard to sleep, thankfully I had earplugs, so eventually fell asleep. I was woken at 5am to quite a lot of banging, unsure where from, I wanted a lay in, someone knocked my door at 8, it was a cleaner, I think! they apologised when they saw that they had woken me. I should have put the zzzz notice on the door handle. The room was clean and bed comfortable.

First room allocated toilet would not flush. Allocated a second room which gad an awful damp smell which affected my wife's breathing. Allocated a 3rd room which was a lot better. Reported one light not working in 3rd room which still had not been fixed by departure. Requested room to be cleaned on 3 occasions during stay. Cleaning comprised of emptying bin and replacing towels. Bathroom was not cleaned with shower disgusting after 2 days and carpet not hoovered during stay.

We have used this Premier Inn at Grazeley Green before with no problem. The room we had the first night was next to a door which disturbed us with people coming and going. The following day we asked to be moved and this was arranged. However the room had not been well cleaned. The bathroom vent and drain had not been cleaned. This matters in terms of hygiene such as mould and dust mites which many people are allergic to, and can aggravate asthma. A toe nail was found on the carpet. Disappointed at the lowering of standards .
