"Bad start great result!"
Arrived in Reading to our Airbnb to find it was a scam (Buyer beware!). It was Ascot weekend so wasn't hopeful of getting g accommodation but Insha the Manager was brilliant and sorted us three rooms. The staff were lovely (Oksana and Sarka) and made us feel welcome after a stressful start. Thank you
"Very dirty"
The good thing is that is close to city centre. The bad thing is it needs a good/ deep cleaning. In my room the carpet was very dirty, in the bathroom was mold smell, too much dust around. I couldn't sleep all night because I couldn't breathe properly from the dust. I stayed with the window open all night so too much noise from the traffic outside. Too rubbish for the price that I paid.
"You know what you get with a Premier Inn"
My mother and I will often stay at this hotel if we are seeing a show at the Hexagon as it is an ideal location (~10 minute walk away). I tend to book Premier Inn's because you know what you get with them, but on this occasion I did feel slightly let down by an evening staff member. One of our two key cards didn't want to work at the lift, and also had trouble at the hotel door (it turned green but the door didn't unlock) so my mother asked for it be changed out, to be met with scepticism and a requirement to confirm that was the case. When it failed to call the lift a new card was issued but the whole situation just felt a bit 'off' with the handling. It's a shame as all the other staff members were a delight, from check-in to check-out. We were often greeted with a "hello" or a "good evening/morning" from the people on reception and that was a lovely touch - barring this one person. Now it is possible they were following company requirements, but there are ways of being pleasant about it. That aside, we had a pleasant stay. The room is what you'd expect from a Premier Inn, it was clean and well presented, the bathroom was spotless, the bed was comfy. We were put in a part of the hotel overlooking the carpark which was 'new' to us as we have often been the other side, it was quiet for the most part, but there were a fair few doors slamming which obviously the hotel cannot really control. The shower was a bit lacklustre, decent pressure but heated poorly - that said as it was a warm stay the temperature wasn't that important to just have a quick soak. I did notice that it drained a little slowly though. The aircon worked very well in the room, but did seem to take a few hours to get to the desired temperature, this was fine for us as we were out for the evening and it was cool enough by the time we got back, but for others this might be an issue. That said I didn't fiddle with the settings too much so it is also possible I had it on a very low setting! Breakfast was very good, as usual at this particular hotel there was plenty of choice and it was all hot. Staff were around but not in your face - a fair balance. The food also looked to be replenished at regular intervals, I never saw one of the hot plates missing any vital food items. We'd certainly still stay at this hotel again the next time we see a show at the Hexagon.
"Amazing 👏 🤩 love it will come back next time I come to work"
Great premier plush room staff were amazing sarka/oksana/Dominika and Liam bar service was great 👍 I would recommend it to anyone and I would come back shops close by checking was very easy staff we're very helpful and the reception is well organised
"Noisy location, adj. A Road. Nice staff."
Well located for shops and food, about 10 mins walk from Reading Station. But it's quite noisy due to proximity to main roads and those pillocks who drive by with noisy attention seeking cars / mbikes. So maybe pick a top floor room and also you won't suffer from elephants in the room above! Reasonable room, bath taps and shower a bit dribbly+ bath stained, showing its age. Comfortable bed and good air con. Pretty clean. Stayed here due to air con but other hotels near the station probably quieter?
